Yep just putting two and two together and probably coming up with 7. But strange coincidence with ” cattle prods ” ” Labaik ” coming out all of a sudden. Interesting though, that he just came out of nowhere directly behind where Labaik was stood and everyone appeared to be staring at him.
March 2, 2021 at 23:15 #1526762Straw- you are more than entitled to say he took the p out a dead horse..
But im inclined to believe it was a lapse of judgement and him being extremely desensitised to the situation, now i still believe the photo is wrong of course and utterly moronic he allowed it, but he has a fairly immaculate record bar that photo (and im not talking about conspiracies about stopping horses i mean on the record)
However, if any other of these “allegations” become true then ill obviously change my mind.
Nothing wrong with your opinion on that, but ill personally give him the benefit of the doubt with it to an extent, but he absolutely should be punished to some degree for it. Just not how he is for me.
March 2, 2021 at 23:21 #1526785I agree botchy it does look suss along with the alegations but as ham said we have to give him the benefit of the doubt! I have faith in humanity lol.

ham, does ‘a fairly immaculate record’ just mean that few outside of the yard knew what was going on?
March 3, 2021 at 00:08 #1526823Agreed ham
Some twitter esque conspiracy stuff on here atm
Seems some want it all to be true
Il judge him when we get all the facts not before
As it stands its one mistake
If more is revealed then we can judge it on that
March 3, 2021 at 00:08 #1526824Noel Moran’s moving everything of his (including Zanahiyr) to Noel Meade.

As it stands its one mistake
Much more to be revealed and proven as true – in due course.
March 3, 2021 at 00:16 #1526826At least they arent all going to willie
That wouldve been a disaster for the competitiveness of irish racing
March 3, 2021 at 00:17 #1526828“As it stands its one mistake

And if it is we can pass judgement then
Some of the comments on here suggesting serious stuff then justifying it by ending with “if true” is twitter cesspool levels of posting and not fitting this forum imo
March 3, 2021 at 00:18 #1526829Tank, sorry but personally that mentality is part of a wider issue we have especially regarding social media
Until theres evidence, yes, forget the allegations, thats not to say they should not be listened to, but unless theres concrete evidence i couldnt care less what has been said and it shouldnt be taken as if its happened
He has a MASSIVE team, do you think if his actions day to day where as sinister as these moronic twitter feeds make out that #1 hed be as successful as he is and #2 the lid would have been kept on all this time? I highly doubt both, these yards have staff in staff out constantly.
Until right this minute, theres 1 stupid picture thats finished this mans career, 1 lapse of judgement and in the grand scheme of things its nowhere near as bad as the doping thats confirmed to have went on elsewere etc,
So yeah, fairly immaculate until this point and if nothing else comes out and this is all hes guilty of ill be gutted for him.
March 3, 2021 at 00:19 #1526830Totally agree FF its pretty unbelievable.

Fair play to you guys, you are real saints.
But just reading his preposterous pretendy excuse for how the photo wasn’t how it looked is more than enough to see the real character of this man.

Its his stable staff i feel sorry for.
This is a huge operation that is either going to fold or need to massively downsize
99.9% of these people will have done nothing wrong and may find themselves made redundant in a time where getting new jobs in racing and in general is very hard.

A typical twitter cesspool reply

BUY THE SUN
March 3, 2021 at 00:58 #1526840I said yesterday that I wanted to wait to see how things unfold before commenting and its amazing just how much has happened since Saturday night.
I am not one for sitting on the fence so will have my say but I wont be saying anything different to what most have already said.
-The photo is and was greatly disturbing, disgusting, distasteful for many, many reasons.
– Horse racing generally is in the sh1tter because of it, be that England, Ireland, France wherever, its currently in the public eye for these two acts of stupidity.
– BHA turned the screw by making their announcement yesterday that Elliott couldnt have any runners in the UK until the outcome was known from the Irish investigation.
– That is still ongoing.
– This then led to the horses being moved for those owners who want their horses to run at the festival.Whilst Elliott may well be a nasty man in and out of racing, at present we only have that one piece of evidence (which is horrifying) to judge/punish him against and it needs careful and correct thought.
Whilst I dont necessarily agree with the move, I think its courageous for Gigginstown (whatever you think of the O’Leary’s) to stick by him (up until time of writing) in a time of great need. Everyone has turned their back (and perhaps rightly so) but they have reached out a hand. For that I applaud because if that was me in that position (not that I would ever hope to be in that place), I would want someone there for me offering some form of support. Whether I deserve it or not.
For those that know me, or read some of my posts, you’ll see how much I love horses and the sport in general. I have no background in it at all. Just merely my late Irish grandfather taking me into a smoke filled betting shop on a weekly basis and then being hooked and facinated by the animals and bright silks charging around.
You will have seen on the Meydan thread only a few weeks ago where I referenced the amazing stable tours available at Meydan and Breakfast With The Stars track events.
I have been to Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson’s yards, whilst also trying to attend every racecourse in the UK. I have been to Dubai, France and Ireland just to watch my beloved four legged friends and would do anything to have attended over the last few months. I am besotted with it all. Not a day goes by where I am not thinking or reading about it.Moreover, I am sat here now contemplating whether I still want to follow the game. Dramatic, perhaps but like most, I cant unsee those images in my head and whilst I always find myself defending the sport I know and love to many, I have no answers.
As most have said, more potentially comes out and I am not sure I want to be around to see/hear it. I was so looking forward to the Cheltenham Festival but this has just tarnished the whole occassion for me now. A few months ago I feared we wouldnt have any Irish or French runners but now its just complete anarchy to me. I am not sure I want to be around for anything else that potentially surfaces in the next few days and weeks. I really hope my current feelings change, as I have devoted so much time and energy to what I love but right now I feel too deflated. In closing, the photo (and follow up video yesterday) sickens me but I personally dont wish to see another Caroline Flack incident. Yes, they are completely separate cases but at the end of the day Gordon Elliott is human. Yes, he has fuck3d up and perhaps there is a trail of horrow shows still to be revealed but I dont wish to see any individual potentially lose their life over it, regardless as to how bad the crime(s) is. He will be and should be punished hard and that will hopefully give him a long enough time to consider what he has done and hopefully others in the industry, including him, learn from this.
Love to all and Be Kind
