With the extremely sad demise of Carlton House maybe Mr ‘Epsom’ Fallon could re-light the fires for Ballydoyle and break their Saturday Curse

If anyone can, Fallon can, that’s for sure as nobody rides the Downs anywhere near as good as he does.
Could well be an Oaks/Derby double for him as young Moore did last year

Bloody well hope so. Perfect.
June 1, 2011 at 13:27 #358188Yer, i still think World Domination will prove his win was not a fluke but only time will tell.
June 1, 2011 at 14:08 #358202KF/Zarks/Ginger: I am off to the Derby Saturday and travelling down Friday morning so will not be on much after tomorrow.
I have a few fancies, one for Friday EW and then on Saturday in the following races, could you cast your eyes over and tell me what you fancy if you get time.
325 Fri: Ramona Chase has great course form and will hopefully be a large price.
Saturday:
140: Boogie Shoes
210: Can never hit this race!! Factory Time or Norse Gold
240: Very strong on Premio Loco
450: Life and Soul chased home Dandino last year so hopefully could go well in this race.
525: Fireback and Olynard.Many Thanks
June 1, 2011 at 21:19 #358275GDC,i like the look of
Premio Loco
also, the conditions of the race should suit him and i cant see Rio de la Plata giving him 7lb,good luck with your selections down there.
This years Oaks is a poser as usual as the milers step up to a 11/2m for the first time, the million dollar question is who will get the trip.Misty for me
has been my 2nd fav 3yo filly all year, she reminds me a bit of
Imagine
who also won the Irish 1000gns for the stable before going on to Epsom glory, she ticks every box other than the dreaded ‘will she stay’?.
Blue Bunting
is another
Kazzia
and being the 1000gns winner is a deserved fav, particularly with the trip expected to bring out further improvement, but she hasn’t got it yet.
Wonder of Wonders
is the
Alexandrova
of the O Brien runners, she gets the trip on her head, she is bred to be an Oaks winner and make up for her mothers defeat, she looks and moves like a class filly and at twice the price of the fav has more than half as much chance to me.I have already backed Misty for me at 25/1 for the race so i can afford to take a chance on her stable companion.
Wonder of Wonders
£500 win 4/1 Corals Oaks.
£2600
June 1, 2011 at 21:51 #358287Some interesting comments from Steve and Lydia calling themselves the ‘Armchair Jockeys’ on RUK regarding this years Derby.Dont confuse them with our very own Tom tom the pipers son,he stole a pig and away he runs!
June 1, 2011 at 22:02 #358291I’m pleased for the good words for Premio Loco, he’s my next nap on the wealth warning thread if the price is right.

‘Armchair Jockeys’……

He stole a pig, Cormack will be furious he still ain’t coughed up the prize for the cheltenham competition……

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 1, 2011 at 22:03 #358292Delighted you’ve plumped for Wonder of Wonders, Gord. Very much hope you’re right.

June 2, 2011 at 08:10 #358336KF: Cheers for the comments.
I too have backed Wonder of Wonders and have also gone for the Fallon double with Recital (just in case!!).
With regards Premio Loco i just hope the bookies get it wrong and shorten up RDLP due to the Frankie factor

Getting half of the stake on BB back.I’ve been a member of Wonder Of Wonders fan club for some time. As I have the favourite and third favourite (Blue Bunting and Havant).
Value Is EverythingJune 2, 2011 at 10:28 #358363KF: Happy with the draw for Strike up the Band and Captain Dunne from 9 isn’t too bad

Some interesting looking races now, makes for a superb day

Thats very kind of you Ruby, all things considered based on what i have seen of her recently suggests she has to be a major player.I have lacked the foresight of the likes of Zarkava with her mind as he put her up a long time ago.Mind you i am the leader of the
Seville
fan club,i notice you’re not a member!
June 2, 2011 at 21:35 #358486KF: Happy with the draw for Strike up the Band and Captain Dunne from 9 isn’t too bad

GDC,i am very happy with
Strike up the band
coming out of box 11,i can see Cathy Gannon bringing him across to the rails early as he has the pace to do so,Indian Trail is a hold up horse so he shouldn’t compromise Strikes attempt to cut across,i hope the blinkers encourage him to run free off that weight.
Captain Dunne
should also have the pace to get across form box 9,he isn’t 26lb worse off for a length and a half, over C/D with Strike for nothing but top weight takes some carrying,he’s in the form of his life and i still expect his class to show, cant wait!
June 3, 2011 at 21:13 #358717Occassionally you see what can only be described as a racing Cert, they only come around probably half a dozen times a year.
Fame and Glory
was one in last years Coronation Cup at 2/1,i thought Age of Aquarius was another at 10/1 for the Ascot Gold Cup!
I reckonSt Nicholas Abbey
is a cert at 11/10,i can see him doing exactly what Fame did last year, that performance at Chester was more than surprising to me,a bit of the Master Minded touches there.
St Nicholas Abbey
£500 win 11/10,Bet365, Coronation Cup Epsom.
For someone who is right more often than i am wrong,i thought the Coronation Cup could have been a farce, had it been this fellow would still have won as he just about has everything a class horse should, the clock never lies!
The Oaks however turned into a complete farce of a Group 1 and anyone who thinks the winner will beatWonder of Wonders
again in the Irish Oaks hasn’t got a clue,to say Kieran rode a shocker is an understatement,he knew his filly would get every yard of that trip and yet lets the winner (who’s name i have forgotten already) get the softest of leads, very poor judgement from Fallon and the clock concurs. It has to be said Dettori rode a stinker too!
June 4, 2011 at 00:42 #358737Is it me or have several Group 1s been run at pathetic gallops recently?
Had my 25s and 30s for £1500, £500EW at 7/2 (1/3 the odds), £200 at 100/30. 2 out I was counting my money. Can’t believe she’s not won. Also had a lot of multiples running on. A lot. Can only hope and pray Fame and Glory doesn’t win the Gold Cup. If Pour Moi, Recital or Carlton House win tomorrow and then F&G wins the Gold Cup, it’s about £12,000 that I will have missed out on.
I’m all over Strike Up The Band due to you and trends. He meets every single trend. Perfect draw, perfect age, perfect everything. Captain Dunne also meets all of them though…just concerned about his draw and weight.
Also all over Premio Loco in the Diomed and Recital in the Derby.
June 4, 2011 at 13:07 #358821Zarkava,yesterdays Oaks looks worse every time you watch it,as you say it looked like Fallon could have picked the winner off at any time and yet he quite happily let Murtagh control the race to suit his own needs, its not as though
Wonder of wonders
came from off the pace and met trouble in running. You was robbed and when she wins the Irish Oaks in a canter it will be no consolation to you,it will at least emphasize how badly ridden she was yesterday.
June 4, 2011 at 13:35 #358833It doesn’t seem a year ago since the stat book was thrown from the window when the runner-up in the Dante won the Derby,it turns out that is exactly what i want to happen today with
Seville
.This fellow should be 2nd fav and perhaps come off time he will be,he was certainly heavily backed just before the Dante bearing in mind the bookies couldn’t split World Domination,Seville and Carlton House at 2/1,Seville went off the 5/4fav and i expect to see money for him at last today. My biggest wager of the year was
Memory
in the 1000gns and we all know what happened there, having been snaffling all the 12’s and 11’s,10’s and 8’s this week alone i now have the biggest bet of my life running today,i took 16/1 last year along with 14’s and 12’s all e/w so i will take a place if i have to but i wont be laying him off at any time as i have just as much confidence in this fellow as i did with
Workforce
and i never layed him to a penny!
Masked Marvel
at 33/1 would be my e/w tip,he is a Leger horse and he could be staying on when one or two of those who do fail to stay start wilting.
