Hi all and a good afternoon to Swallow Cottage. :)

Well having had a reasonable week last week ERNIE the one that got away, it was thanks in main to Bernhard Langer having it off in no uncertain terms, 25 under for three rounds takes some doing, that was then this is now.

That said moving on to this weeks fare and i will begin with the Portugese Masters, going to be a bit boring here Messrs Rose, Westwood and Dougherty will do for me.

Stateside this week see’s the Fry’s Electronic Open, Burdened with my weight on there shoulders here will be Tim Clark, J J Henry and continuing his slow resurgence another chance is given to Mike Weir.

Next to the Fillies and the Hana Bank Kolon Championship,i am more than happy to take on Lorena again silly perhaps but Evens not for me.

Going in to battle here are Maria Hjorth, Angela Park and (Sarah Lee in the hope that the gateaux’s are on good terms with themselves).

Finally once again to the elder statesmanand the AT&T, can he have such a good week this time not so sure refering to Bernhard, so for a bit of value will side with Freddie Funk,Mark O’Meara and Mark James.

Whatever your picks as alway’s Good Luck.

    Good luck Wakeman,

Over in Portugal i’ve plumped for Peter and Soren Hansen. I have no strong feelings at this stage of the season so am just going for a few golfers in decent form.

The tournament where I will have my usual 4 picks this week is the Grand Slam Of Golf. My four against the field are Jim Furyk, Angel Cabrera, Padraig Harrington and Zac Johnson  .

    Good luck

    Mike

I think you could be on to a winner in Bermuda Mike :)

Nice summary wakeman and I hope you did not break too many eggs last sunday. Justin Rose is favorite in Portugal and is an improved player this year but has only won once ( in Australia ) since 2002 and I worry that his poor performance at wentworth last week may have an effect on his confidence so I’ll not be backing him on a course he is not familiar with. My main selection is Soren Hansen who has been very consistent recently and has finished in the top ten on 7 occasions in his last ten tournaments on the euro tour. My other selection is Anton Haig who won earlier this year and showed a sign of a return to form when finishing 10th recently in the Dunhill Links. I managed to get odds of 250/1 on BF so I’ll be very happy if he wins.

The Fry’s tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona is a new one on the pga tour and looks a lot better one than recent pga tour events and has attracted Phil Mickelson to take part. Phil does not usually play in the USA at this time of year and I wonder how motivated he will be. If he can strike the ball more accurately than usual and hit more fairways then he will be difficult to beat but his odds of about 6/1 do not appeal to me. My main selection is the australian Aaron Baddeley who lives in Scottsdale and won a tournament at a different course there earlier this year. Hopefully he will be familiar with the course at the Fry’s event and if he can also strike the ball more accurately then he will have a great chance as he is an excellent putter. 20’s looks value imo. My other bet is on Pat Perez who has played 168 times on the pga tour without success which does not inspire confidence but he has come close to winning on a few occasions and was born in Arizona and lives in Scottsdale so could go close as he should be also be familiar with the course and conditions…………well, that’s the theory anyway :)

Last week I selected the winners of the Champions event and Ladies event but had no money on either of them. This week I will go for Haas and again for Lorena but will not have a bet on either which will give both a chance of winning.

    Good luck.
