The stewards enquiry as shown on BBC’s Ascot coverage seemed to consist of an explanation from Dettori followed by a paraphrased translation explained to Barzalona by an interpreter.Straight afterwards the jockeys were dismissed and the announcement that the result stood made very quickly afterwards……….surely Barzalona should have been asked by the stewards if he felt that what looked like a significant bump close to the finish had any effect on his horse or the result?
It looked like a very odd amateurish process from what I could see.
