This is going to be a war of attrition and unlike last year we have some more proper stayers going at GDC , I’ve got Corach well covered ante post with Fastorslow and L’homme presse , I’ve added to Corach again and tickled Gerri plus tc Corach , Gerri and GDC
March 15, 2024 at 13:04 #1686292We’ve got some proper stayers for sure but are they classy enough? We had the reigning Grand National winner last year and he plodded on into 4th I think but he was like a furlong behind Galopin. I got this slightly wrong about Teahupoo yesterday so if you’ve backed Gerri Colombe probably worth doubling up but his forms just not very good for his reputation. This could suit him down to the ground but it tells you a lot that The Real Whacker is the rag here today and all his other opposition he’s beaten were handicappers with the exception of his Down Royal win at the start of this season but even if you look at that Envoi Allen was beaten a long way by Galopin over 3m at Punchestown at the end of last season, he’s not really a 3M horse and Conflated was a long way back in the Gold Cup last year and they had originally planned for the Cross Country for him this season which says it all. His forms not good enough to merit his price today in my opinion.
March 15, 2024 at 13:07 #1686294More testing this year tinman plus there are proper grade 1 winning stayers in this , as for Corach he loves that hill
March 15, 2024 at 13:09 #1686296Obviously if he runs to form GDC wins, nothing in here can run 180 bar him. And ill probably kick myself for bot unloading, but…
Was on nice prices for monkfish in the stayers, big ask coming here off his layoff, but at his best, (big ask) hes not a 25/1 shot e/w
FOS e/w @8/1 is the bet for me though, if he stays hes at worst 2nd imo, hopefully keeps drifting
March 15, 2024 at 13:16 #1686301Maybe. I really wanted to take on Galopin and I have but if I’m being honest its because its the Gold Cup, he’s by far the most likely winner here and any other G1 race I’d probably just let him win. You have to have a bet in the Gold Cup, especially when the fav is so short. Corach does love the hill and he’s beaten Fastorslow. If you take that literally he’s got a great chance probable but not certain Fastorslow has just improved past him as he was very lightly raced over fences prior. I’d love to see him go well as he was my daughters pick in the National, the fav I know but she didn’t know just liked the colours/name bless her and it didn’t even pay for the losses on the day. He’s a cracking horse and Lucinda does brilliant with what she has, Giovinco ran a blinder in the BANC.
March 15, 2024 at 13:23 #1686305Even on the Ultima form Fastorslow comes out better than Corach Rambler, TTM.
Fastorslow got beaten a neck but was giving the winner 4 lbs.Value Is EverythingMarch 15, 2024 at 13:37 #1686312The extra distance more likely to help Corach though
March 15, 2024 at 15:10 #1686393Added Gerry C on a boost – 9/1
March 15, 2024 at 15:16 #1686399He’s the money horse , some money about for Jungle Boogie to , he’s the unexposed horse
March 15, 2024 at 15:18 #1686400I have added L’Homme Presse at 15/1. His win at Lingfield looks better now and he has conditions to suit.
March 15, 2024 at 15:18 #1686402Corach Rambler for me also.
March 15, 2024 at 15:22 #1686407Galopin Des Champs 2-1 AP. Good luck all.
March 15, 2024 at 15:25 #1686411When was the last time we had the previous three winners of the Brown Advisory/RSA etc line up in the Gold Cup? Has it ever happened?
March 15, 2024 at 15:27 #1686414Will try Gentlemansgame 25-1 e/w; going makes it harder to predict (harder than usual).
March 15, 2024 at 15:27 #1686415I’ll add Gentlemasgame ew, has a bit of class and Mouse’s other runner at the festival ran well.
March 15, 2024 at 15:29 #1686417The Real Whacker at 50s EW and Corach Rambler win at 16s.
Agree with you about Gentlemansgame. Good luck!
