RP now got ABP on 12 stone which matches Sporting Life racecard. 12 stone v 11 stone 3. 11 pound difference.
Monalee must have a big opportunity Friday one would’ve thought.

Trainer has ducked it, Monalee not declared.

He should’ve ran him I think and given ABP a harder race, particularly with Minella Indo (and A Plus Tard?) in his yard as potential Gold Cup opposition.

Gutted monalee isn’t taking on ABP at the weights and with the fitness edge, if monalee was odds against I think it would have been a good bet

Monalee reported to have suffered a setback, is the reason for his absence.

His light prep certainly gives him a chance of 3 in a row and is solid enough
The Gold Cup and other top grade 3 miles plus races takes it toll on a lot of horses so I think Mullins does the right thing.

Totally agree Nath. I agree it’s not massively adventurous, but there are so few multiple winners for a reason.

He,s not flash but he does everything extremely well ….he,s miles a away from that nutter who run out while leading a few years back , everything else in the race either has a flaw or question mark over them

He does a lot well yes

Hes never been a great jumper though, he wins despite his jumping

Always chucks in a few fiddly ones but tends to get away with it

Certainly the one to beat atm

Yorkhill getting a speculative entry here. He’ll definitely be getting a few quid of mine his way, regardless of how unlikely it is that he’ll run in it.

Vtc I think he may well be here , it’s big a op for both the team and owners to be at the biggest stage ….I’d love to see him and Native River setting a right proper pace at the front ….then we,ll see who can jump , e.w double with bellshill in the GN , did you back voix de reve on nnews year day , so nearly another nice price for the owners

I’m hoping he ends up in the Scot champ hurdle , I plugged e.w so I’ve a few shackles to play again with him

Looking back through my bets and Santini was 12’s before even running this season
bookies shortened him off the back of Topofthegame being ruled out, anticipation he might win his early races, money bet on him and them being rip off merchants.
I still maintain Cheltenham is his course and where he runs his best races and already having the two runs behind him and possibility of going Newbury instead of the gruelling Cheltenham end of January race I think he is still a great price at 12’s

Henderson has left himself in the position of having to run both champ and santini in the cotswald , I’ve said it a number of times ….why will santini reverse the form with Alboum photo …there is no reason and to my eyes he,s getting slower …Nicky GN all the way …you know it makes sense

Santini is stuck in no mans land IMO. If they go off quick he’ll be under pressure early, exert too much energy, will stay on well but his mid race exertions will cost him real strength in the finish. If they go off an even pace or slower, he’ll lie up with them no problem but when the screw is turned he just wont have the gears. Sounds mad saying that about a horse who with another 100 yards would have probably won the Gold Cup, but I think everything went right that day and I can’t see him going as close this year.
