I backed Lostintranslation earlier at 8/1. I thought that was a nice price, but there has been no love for him today and he is even bigger at the moment. He is still my main bet though. The last two years my big ante post bet for the Gold Cup won, so I’m still hoping for succes.
Also backed Monalee at 30/1, Bristol de Mai at 33/1 EW and got 5/1 for Al Boum Photo at the Unibet preview night.
I’ve joined Peter and the other Monalee backers. His jumping is good should help Rachael to get up the front, grab and hold the fresh ground and slow the pace a fraction if she likes. Trainer says he thinks he will stay and he is usually quite conservative with comments.
Lostintranslation has been my main play antepost but the stable form is worrying , I’ve played delta work and rev forecast , good luck all
Cracking race, well done winners. Four good horses at the finish. Santini did very well for the lack of pace in the race.
Well, Lostintranslation was my main bet, but happy with my bet Al Boum Photo at 5-1 too. Lostintranslation just didn’t stay the trip.
It really is. Good horses coming to the front, winding the pace up and up and charging down over the last few fences…whew.

Lost did stay , the question is over stable form , the winner is a very good horse and it’s telling how Mullins has trained him …keeping him away from the Irish grade 1s , the pace of those races doesnt help in the GC , he could come back and win another
They didn’t go that fast, maybe Nico should have gone on on stayer Santini. Switched a couple of times when outpaced in the straight. However, some of us criticised Townend yesterday but what a ride!
Wrote off my 9/4 bet on Townend to be top jockey.
Value Is EverythingABP will still only be 9 next year. If they get softer ground and a quicker pace that will bring Santini into it. Delta Work will still be young and with better luck will be in there pitching. Minella Indo will get a better pace and more cover from good horses and hopefully a year wiser to settle. Samcro might stay…Henrietta can brush up Champ’s jumping and he will come powering up the hill…
