Yet again Al Boum does the business, and yet again people underestimated the form of the race in Tramore
Who underestimated the form at tramore? He was a heavily backed fav? Majority didnt lol .. cant have everyone fancying him… not sure what your getting at? Nothing worse than i told you so posts…
And i backed him before you come to any pocket talking conclusions.
Santini was in top gear the first circuit , for me he,s too slow , that’s 2 years he,s been outstayed up the hill while lostintranslation was switched off beautifully , watching again I’m sure Robbie wished he asked sooner ….I’m sure they,ll be confident now he stays

Value Is EverythingSantini lost because it took him ages to get going after the last

I know it’s petty of me but I like good horses to have good names. ABP is a beautiful, talented creature and I know his name comes from his sire but it’s such an ugly name [had to get that off me chest….].
Do not really care about his name – all that matters is he is a fine chaser.
Cannot have Santini to reverse the form. He just does not convince.
Lostintranslation stayed and I would see him as a bigger challenger next year.
And really great for Tramore to have had the Gold Cup winner two years running. It is a lovely track.
Yeah, this was a terrific race, but so should next year be. Hopefully Topofthegame will be back in business too.

Thrilled to see Lostintranslation run such a good race, especially as stable form been disappointing this week.It was a fantastic race and clearly one to remember. So many perfect jumps, so many chances and how many times do you see “ten in line at the third last”???
I have to say that the sport has changed a lot over the past 6-7 years, but it is a very good change. One to more professionalism, especially from the Irish side.
I hope Al Boum Photo now starts to get the praise he deserves. He was a good winner last year but a lot of people seemed underwhelmed by it, presumably because he was a big price and so were the placed horses.
Now he has won a second GC and beat just about every good staying chaser out there with the exception of Topofthegame (and I suppose Native River as well but I cannot believe he would have won).
I expect Nicholls cannot wait to get Topofthegame back. A line through Santini would have seen him as the winner. And he has to realise now that Clan Des Obeaux is not a Cheltenham horse. Maybe it might finally dawn on NTD that Bristol De Mai is not either!
