June 2, 2019 at 15:33 #1444304Well done, a great weekend for me esp with last night (although a rubbish game)
Us disciples thank you
June 2, 2019 at 22:31 #1444364Thanks lads, suppose it was 13/1 BOG.

Only just watched the race and looked it up on Racing Post Results. Are those speed figures right? When backing Sottsass it was officially good-soft and I expected no firmer than good. If “fast by 5.1 seconds” is correct and if the race distance is correct (dubious in France) today’s real surface must have been at least good-firm… And tbh had I know this Persian King may well have been the main bet, not Sottsass. LOL
Value Is EverythingJune 2, 2019 at 22:43 #1444365Betting-wise there’s not much happening. Next day of race bets likely to be either a couple of Listed races at The Curragh Thursday evening… Or failing that, a Group 3 at the same course the following night.
Might have a Royal Ascot ante-post bet before that though – as always – if I can get on at the right price.
Will take advantage of the lull with a thread update before Thursday… And the garden’s been neglected.
Value Is EverythingJune 2, 2019 at 23:24 #1444374I see here it was about 18C in chantily from morning to race time so I doubt the ground would’ve dried too much anyway

Times from Chantilly were impossible to do unless the ground was on the firm side of good, Istabraq… Or possible race distances were incorrect. If distances were right then ground was at least good-firm; whatever the temperature was. Noticed before (remember Alpha Centauri last year? One I wanted to oppose in the soft conditions, before realising from times it was actually perfect for her). French going reports often bear no relation to actual conditions.

June 3, 2019 at 15:37 #1444431GT- how do you hold a fully functioning PP account??
Hi Jack,
I don’t have an at all a functioning account with Paddy Power.
Know your post wasn’t exactly about the stuff below, Jack; it’s not aimed at you.
But it’s worth reiterating:When putting up prices I’ll look on oddschecker for the top price – unless it’s a bookie I believe my followers won’t have an account with like Marathon Bet or Red Zone etc (I’ll ignore those, like I did with 4/1 Magical last night; although personally managed to get 20 quid’s worth of 4/1 matched on the machine). If betfair’s blue column is the same or nearly the same as the top priced bookie I’ll name the bookie even though my own personal bet is – like Madhmoon – with betfair. There have been occasions I’ve personally had to take a shorter price than I’ve quoted/is available to my followers, but this was not one of them. Have often taken bigger prices myself too, but can not put them up here because they’re no longer available (sometimes because I’ve taken it all LOL). Am aware sometimes Oddschecker can be slow to react, so if an obvious mistake won’t put that up either.
If someone is aware the price I quote was not available at time of writing – eg if Oddschecker is out of date – then please let me know and I’ll change it. (When the price am qoting is from Oddschecker and not the bookie’s site itself is possible the price was wrong). If unable to write fast enough and the price has gone before I could put it up, I will come back and say “if X wins I’ll call it Y”, ie will change it myself. However, am certain that one or two bookies only keep my account going to tip them off about horses they’ve got wrong… And/or if I think it’s a good price other good/better judges will no doubt think the same. Therefore my tips often don’t last long at the price quoted… And you wouldn’t expect me to come back two minutes after putting a 3/1 bet up and say the price has improved so will change the bet to 7/2 – so the same has to apply if prices shorten seemingly immediately after my tip.
In other words, the price I tip at is never knowingly more than the evidence suggests is available at time of writing.
Value Is EverythingJune 3, 2019 at 16:52 #1444449I thought you were a Corals man, LS; not a Laddies?
