Saw 12/1 for the winner last night, but as there was a fair bit of it about thought I’d get better this morning (greedy!) and 9/1 best today (and I couldn’t get that myself either). Settled for 8/1. If 12s would’ve done them both as main bets, but chose the wrong one. Actually, that’s not right. Considering how he’d jumped Fountains did well to be there two out. Disappointed Coleman didn’t go on; think Fountains Windfall would’ve jumped better in front.
Still, at least I didn’t lose.
First two races won by the front runner, often happens when jockeys don’t realise how fast the ground is.

Crosspark didn’t jump as well as he can, several errors befotre pulling up. Hopefully he’s ok.
O Maonlai went from going really well to nothing in strides, usually goes well fresh before doing nothing the rest of the year. Looks as though temperament hit early this year. On Tour came through from the back and going like a winner up the straight only to make a mistake and unseat. Gold Present looked beaten over the last but seemed rejuvenated once the loose horse came by – without that happening don’t think he’d have won. The Romford Pele has shortened up now, but am worried about what’s happening with Loose Chips – out to 11/1 on the machine. Reason why I wanted to be on his side is he’s a front runner. Never wanting to give up the lead but can sometimes give up if unable to get it. There’s not another confirmed front runner in this field. Grandad’s Horse can lead but doesn’t often, ditto Masters Hill. So Loose Chips should be able to control this race. Fox Appeal and Masters Hill have been well backed, their trainers are in good form; but both aren’t easy to win with. However, the drift in Loose Chips is a worry and makes me wonder if there’s another target. If you’re not on yet I’d half the stake.
