The hugely unlikable Michael O’Leary never strikes me as being a racing man and it’s his brother who is the mastermind behind the operation.

Clearly unhealthy to have races swamped by one owner or trainer but encouraging to read that there is no preferred order when Gigginstown co-owned horses race against each other.

I think that simple as it sounds the variety of colours idea would ease the impression you get from just watching different coloured caps like we do currently.

Yep he has lost all his giggy horses…as usual Elliot will get first pick of the bunch, further pushing from behind the scenes for the trainer’s champ?! If you were a scenic you’d think so…however to be fair it’s been that way for a while now. It will be fascinating to see how he gets on with some of the horses though…

I don’t think for a minute that Gigginstown are ruining Irish racing. It ruins itself beacuse in a lot of the races the horses in them are not running on their merits. Non triers galore.
I think he is keeping Irish racing going. Take him out of the equation and a lot of people would be out of jobs. Prices may come down though.
However we have had similar situations in the past on the flat in the Uk Robert Sangster in the 70s and then Sheik Mohammed, but racing survives and always will.
I just wish Irish racing had less non triers or the Stewards did something about it but alas nothing will happen.

I’m not sure the non trier rates are WS high as they might seem. There are so few races in Ireland in comparison to Britain that maiden hurdles and beginners chases are usually big fields with a lot of useless horses racing.
The less racing means trainers are probably more likely to run a horse when it gets into a race rather than waiting for when the horse is in its best form.

Of course there are non triers, but maybe not as many as might be thought
