Forgive the rather specific thread title but I couldn’t put it any better.
I am looking for some help with getting racecards in text format.
Basically I need to find a way of getting the racecard data like this:
    Racetime and details (return)
Number (tab) draw (tab) formfigs (tab) Horsename (tab) days since last run (tab) CD BF etc (tab) age (tab) wt (tab) jockey (return)

The data is for private use and so far the nearest I can get is cutting and pasting from well-known websites. There are a couple of problems with this. Firstly, most sites use graphics for the CD BF section and others merge the racecard number and draw when you paste from Word.

If anyone knows a handy trick to get this data without hours of work, I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks

I use them to import the race details but not the headers or betting forecast

    i.e. Cloth No./ Form figures/ Horse /Trainer /Age /Weight /Jockey

into separate columns without problem using the ‘Paste Special’ function in Lotus 123. Presumably Word has something similar.

However the CD and BF icons being graphics do not import.

What I find is that if you use IE6 then hold CTRL whilst highlighting what you want then copy it, load up microsoft excel then goto pasta special > Unicode text and it will put everything it columns and rows for you

So best ignore my irrelevant guff on spreadsheets and go with Mr Wilson’s advice

I begin the descent into the land of nod after 10.00pm, which tends to be rapid following the meticulous dissection of three NH meetings :)
