Yes or No.
December 20, 2013 at 02:25 #462345I take it I wont be getting
your vote then. Alex there is
no disputing you know a lot about
horse racing and have made good
contributions, and I welcome you
back. I say this in a friendly way
just ease off the gas a bit.
Everyone is a bit staid in here,
you have a different style and
its necessary to control your emotions.
Pilsen can be a bit of a curmudgeon,
and gets a bit of getting used to.
He is rather direct.I shall shower and go to bed.

I’d be interested to know if there was anyone on here who watches horse racing but does’nt bet on it.
December 20, 2013 at 10:24 #462367There are quite a few who have stated this in the past, I won’t mention names.
I would imagine that there are also several people like me, who bet on it but rarely get chance to watch any of it.I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysDecember 23, 2013 at 21:27 #462804You can mention names Purwell
and I am not one of them.
These people that see the aesthetics
of a race and all of the horses
where as the come on my sons
miss all the action – their
following the horse at the back.I used to bet in play on football
but it spoiled the enjoyment
Money isn’t everything
just sit back and watch a good
game like in the old days.
Everything now is techno, corners
cards, goals, who is wearing
the Y pants. Same with tennis
betting destroys it.
Horse racing though seems to fit well
with money and can hghten the
experience, particularly
if you pick the right horseStrangely enough a lot of Matthews
threads seem to have been picked up
on. The secret of that – his absence
Have a good mobile New Year Matt
December 29, 2013 at 06:01 #463347Dear Anonymous.I have been watching races for many years (65) now and do not bet.Of course (1) I can ill afford to do so and (2) I am not allowed to bet on overseas races now that I live in California. However I follow Irish racing and belong to a syndicate in Ireland.
ps will be 80 in February and grateful to be able to follow the ponies still.December 29, 2013 at 09:49 #463351I do have a bet, but would watch Pattern Flat Racing or Graded NH Racing for sporting entertainment if punting or not.
I can’t believe any racing fans wouldn’t – I didn’t back Usain Bolt last year but was still glued to the Olympics.
December 29, 2013 at 19:30 #463446I enjoy seeing odds on horses being beaten, the money buyers are being outflanked. I don’t bet because I cannot now identify potential winners. That’s my fault but the amusement lies in the shock results seen on every single day.
December 30, 2013 at 09:54 #463471Life is indeed a gamble, but why follow suit when trying to win a few bob from the horses. STATS are FACTS and should be followed if a gambler wishes to become a successful "investor"
December 30, 2013 at 15:12 #463500I have been betting for over 40 years and have owned horses in a small way i can enjoy watching racing without betting but still like a punt, never paid attention to a stat in my life although i dare say i will have backed horses that stats will have indicated, i go on the evidence of my own eyes and form and that has stood me well.
