From what I have heard and read there is every chance that we could see apples jade, presenting percy and even benie des dieux here
Mullins said in the post yesterday there was a good chance benie would run
What a brilliant race it would be if all 3 turned up
The return to the track of grade 1 winning novice hurdler and chaser death duty could happen apparently too
Don’t have an opinion at this stage, will want to see the final field and prices first
January 19, 2020 at 16:05 #1480251Would be shocked to see Benie run here! Percy will get a pen kick here i suspect.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 19, 2020 at 19:37 #1480262Good to see Bachasson still kicking about.
He’s always looked as if he didn’t get the chance to show he good he was, and I still wonder just how he would have got on in The Gold Cup, but for his early fall.
He’d be more of a sentimental choice, but he goes well fresh, and though he’s probably not the horse he was, I’ll side with him if he’s a price.
January 21, 2020 at 15:57 #1480418Presenting Percy heading to Irish Gold Cup instead.
January 21, 2020 at 18:15 #1480428Excellent news that VTC
Glad connections have seen sense
January 21, 2020 at 18:50 #1480436Seems the right choice for me FF.
I’m hoping Bachasson will be a price, cause I will bet him, despite the strong opposition.
January 22, 2020 at 11:40 #1480497Benie des dieux vs apples jade is on then
Not bad for a thursday

Betfair have it 5/4 apples jade 6/4 benie des dieux
If anyone prices up benie bigger than that il have a bet
January 22, 2020 at 20:57 #1480547This is definitely not a betting race for me, but as interesting as the big pair are, I’m very interested in seeing how Death Duty fairs.
January 23, 2020 at 13:59 #1480597Fair play to Gordon elliot for being honest about apples jade and saying before the race she wasn’t anywhere near her best
January 24, 2020 at 10:24 #1480665Just watched the replay. It’s hard to see in the fog but Apples was changing legs all over the shop from the start and swishing her tail at times. I wonder if last year’s ground did something to her
January 24, 2020 at 11:10 #1480669Benie De Deaux currently rated 157, not sure how much she will get put up for that with Apples Jade flopping but surely a few pounds?

Quevega rated 167, and Annie Power 166. I’d personally have backed AP against Q all day over any distance.
Mullins thinks BDD better than either – will be a shame to see her sauntering home in the bloody Mares bearing that in mind.

January 24, 2020 at 12:01 #1480679Sorry to be that person but for all that she did win easy and looked good, she beat Penhill the same distance AJ did on their prior run.
January 24, 2020 at 15:59 #1480700Townsend was not throwing the kitchen sink at her.

Did you watch the race Kev? You are factually correct, but you’d be stone nuts to think she could not have won by double the distance should PT have thrown the kitchen sink.
