The jockey of the winner of last weeks G1 Travers at Saratoga has been accused of using an electronic device on his horse Will Take Charge http://www.drf.com/news/will-take-charg … ce-travers
Reminds me of the Ile De Chypre affair.
August 31, 2013 at 19:03 #449983The horse’s name- WILL TAKE CHARGE. Perhaps the jock took it literally.
Doubtless it will lead to a battery of shocking headlines
August 31, 2013 at 20:19 #450008The winner showed an electric turn of foot.

September 1, 2013 at 06:08 #450036Eric Guillot is insane. This is a man that literally has a
voodoo doll
of Todd Pletcher and claimed he used it before the Travers to get Verrazano and Palice Malice to lose. After Moreno lost to WTC Guillot first decided to take a pot shot at the Hall of Famer who beat him:
“Very seldom do his horses run two in a row in the last decade, two good ones, in my opinion,” said the 51-year-old trainer. “I think his heyday is gone past. Win or lose yesterday, there’s a lot to leave to the imagination with Wayne’s operation.”
And then decided to make up a BS story since he’s such a sore loser. The Travers was filmed in HD, broadcast to a national television audience. There is not one thing in the race footage to suggest any sort of "buzzer" was used by Saez. He certainly didn’t need to use one since Moreno was the one who was tiring.
Nothing will come of this case, but of course journalists will be quick to pounce on the story and give more negative media attention on the sport. Guillot ought to have his license revoked.
September 1, 2013 at 19:19 #450070Yes he is hiding something in hands for sure in the gallop out, but surely this is circumstantial evidence only, unless further evidence can be provided in order to collaborate the video footage.
(sub note) Isn’t the video quality superb! As a trip handicapper I consider such quality a rare privilege in comparison with our footage in the UK. In addition I love to hear the rumble of the race, send buzz through my spine!
4:20 is the gallop out!
