G’Day
Would anybody who just watched that first race from Lingfield like to give their opinion of the ride of Cathy Gannon on Frequency ?
Could someone explain why Cathy Gannon would look for inside runs and not just go straight to the outside of the horse in front of her, There was ample room and opportunity ?
Just staggering and I needed to get that off my chest.
Thankyou

Don’t think Frequency is the most straight forward of horses, partly why he is down in claimers I expect. I think Gannon was trying to get a tow into the race for as long as possible and felt perhaps Northern Dare was the one to get it off. Not always easy those type of rides, when they go wrong, they look bad.

March 7, 2011 at 18:59 #343635I actually backed the it, but I was well aware what you are getting with this horse in needs to be delivered on the line, and I think if she had gone outside the horse wouldn’t have gone past the others, so waiting for the gap was the only option.

March 8, 2011 at 17:47 #343760I agree it’s a tricky ride.
I think for its previous yard the combination of headgear and Eddie Ahern made a difference – now the novelty of not being able to see anything to the sides/behind has worn off he’s back to his old recalcitrant ways
