: Behkabad and Planters, they meet again! :!:

    Group II at Longchamp

Lovers will gallop to their hearts delight Sunday at Longchamp with a multitude of group program that will serve as preparatory races to the much anticipated event, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on October 3 next. These quality prints, the Prix Niel, a Group II played on 2400 meters, with the bonus track on the reunion and Behkabad Planter, respectively first and second in the Grand Prix de Paris last July 14 the same distance. There’s revenge in the air …

It is only to watch the winners of the Prix Niel in recent years to discover that there are illustrious names. Cavalryman, the defending champion, Vision d’Etat in 2008, Soldier Of Fortune (2007) who holds the record for the race in 2’25 "60, Dalakhani (2003), etc.. Olivier Peslier, crack jockey, had the chance to win this race three times in the last 20 years with Sagamix (1998), Helissio (1996) and Housamix (1995). This race, which was originally the name Prix de Chantilly, was Prix Niel in 1972 renamed to honor the Count Gaston Niel. Just as the Prix Vermeille and the Prix Foy, will serve as a pre-Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Towards a confrontation Behkabad / Planter

This year, the Group II, played on the 2400 meters from the main track at Longchamp, will speak to three years of quality all bearing the same weight of 58kg, with a bonus allocation of 130,000 euros. They will be only seven males in battle, but the battle should rage. :o
On paper, two competitors seem to stand the light of the Grand Prix de Paris played on the same track at Longchamp on July 14 last.

That day, Behkabad, led by Gerald Mosse, had started entering the home straight. After creating the gap, he won a small length at the expense of Planter, author of a fine end of the race. Behkabad, already winner of the Prix de Guiche, Chantilly on May 10th, had caused a strong impression. On this same classic distance of 2400 meters, planter can take his revenge? A resident of Elie Lellouche, second in Prix du Jockey-Club on June 6 after Lope de Vega, was still ahead Behkabad, only fourth. On that line, Planter can dream, but it was on the track at Chantilly. One thing is sure, the two champions will take a very close race conditions and should make the difference. :?:

Victory Pisa, the attraction came from Japan!

The other competitors seem a shade below. Shamalgan finished second in the Grand Prix de Maisons-Laffitte on July 25 after seeing behind Shimraan failed in the Prix du Jockey Club (not set). He still took a fine third place in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains last May 16 after Lope de Vega and Dick Turpin, two sacred clients. Live Free, the second inmate Elie Lellouche, does not seem to appreciate the layout of Longchamp when they see his 8th place in the Prix Saint-James and his ninth in the Grand Prix de Paris. After You, trained by Andre Fabre, has raced only once. It was last July 29 at Clairefontaine-Deauville on 2400 meters. A race won before Ghaabesh and Nursery. Kidnapping comes from Italy where he has become four times on the racetrack in Milan during his last 5 races. In fact, Victory will Pisa main attraction of this Group II. This horse, which comes straight from Japan, has pocketed more than two million euros in prize money. Winners of Group I and Group II Nakayama a, he had to settle for a 3rd place in Tokyo last May 30. We can not wait to see what it is at this level … :D

    Prix Foy:

    Byword and Daryakana face off?

The discovery of the composition of the platoon be at the start of the Prix Foy, Group II restricted to 4 years and over 2,400 meters and competed on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Longchamp, may seem somewhat confusing. The absence of major stables residents, a commitment exotic, some participants ignored disturb the readability of the lot. However, it would be arrogance to underestimate the quality participants, not least the fact that the Prix Foy is a pre-Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, and that leaning on further applications from its participants The quality is beautiful, well presented and exciting coming struggle.

Towards a match byword – Daryakana?

The fans remained on their Daryakana end shortly before the start of the price of Pomona during the summer meeting in Deauville. The day of the start of the race and facing unfavorable weather conditions, his entourage had taken the decision to forfeit. This commitment might be an opportunity for a rejuvenating experience for the filly being challenged by his previous struggles against the males. We think of King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot or Harbinger of the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, where she had two tests not unworthy. Students from Alain de Royer-Dupre therefore faces new males, and is already an indication of the confidence of his entourage in his chances. This lady is a good and a victory in the Prix Foy definitely would give it star status. But before reaching it, it will overcome byword. This resident of Andre Fabre, the son of Peintre Celebre, has certainly never run on too long. His achievements, however, detonating: Winner of the Prince of Wales’s Stakes (GI) at Ascot in mid-June, then bowed byword York, 3rd Rip Van Winkler in the International Stakes (G. II). He finds here Longchamp with legitimate ambitions, and his fight against Daryakana looks fierce.

Chinchon and the line of the Grand Prix de Chantilly

Faced with these two talented athletes, three experienced candidates will try to reciprocate. First Chinchon, the resident Carlos Laffon-Parias. Recent winner of a Group I to the United States, twice winner of Group III this year in France, Chinchon is part of the line of the Grand Prix de Chantilly which he finished fourth of Allied Powers. Certainly it is not aligned in this vintage 2010 Prix Foy, but his task is still arduous. The powerful chestnut Timos finished second in the same Allied Powers in Chantilly. A resident of Thierry Doumen made a comeback here. Having just run over his career (9 races), this 5 years of German origin has potential. After nearly a year’s absence, he had won a race last spring to conditions of almost 15 lengths in St. Cloud. Like Chinchon Timos objective is to best fulfill its role as spoiler.

The British presence and the Holy Grail Japanese

England will be represented by a competitor in the 2010 edition of the Prix Foy. John Gosden delegates to Duncan, who leaves for the occasion the British borders for the first time. This son of Dalakhani has not won a tournament since a Listed at Ascot in May 2009. This season, he finished second in particular in the Hardwicke Stakes Harbinger, when the Sir Michael Stoute boarder was irresistible, before finishing fourth in a Group III won by Redwood any good at Goodwood. Sunday, William Buick (winner of the Prix Morny Dream Ahead) will be associated with him, and if that competitor English digests the trip that starts at Longchamp, rivals of the day will be watched closely.
Finally the Japanese in their quest thus far unsuccessful Arc de Triomphe, will boast the presence of one of their representative. Nakayama Festa, unbeaten in 2010, Takarazuka Kinen winner (IM, 2200 meters) as an outsider in his last outing at Hanshin late June, Prix Foy is an event referred to his entourage. Present on French soil since a number of weeks, this "x" of the race is a potential troublemaker. Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Longchamp and the Prix Foy arrival of a new stage has been reached in the constitution of the hierarchy of athletes to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. But until the first Sunday in October, the winner of the Prix Foy see him his name permanently inscribed in marble. :D

    : Midday!

Midday in Champion! Winner of Group I this summer, Nassau Stakes and Yorkshire Oaks, the resident of Henry Cecil has added a premium to its successful track record, this Sunday, September 12 at Longchamp, the Prix Vermeille removing with a fine authority, the fifth fastest Group I of his career. The daughter of Oasis Dream should now take the direction of the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare. Author of a pleasant straight, Sarafina, third, did not disappoint and would in all likelihood, move towards its main objective, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

By aligning its champion Midday departure of Qatar Prix Vermeille on Sunday at Longchamp, Henry Cecil had not hidden the fact that this event was a real goal for the student and not a race preparation for the upcoming Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe . Quickly to the forefront, a protégé of Khalid Abdullah has responded perfectly to those around him to sign the fifth Group I of his career and should now take the lead in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare. Good third, Sarafina has finished undefeated pleasant manner close to the winner and Andre Fabre’s filly, Plumania extremely courageous.

    Sarafina pleasant surprise Ashiyla

To enter the final straight, the pace quickened again led by the Moderator of the first hour would be overwhelmed by Plumania however, came coasting to the best. Midday began seriously to be grabbed by his partner like Rare Painting in its wake,
Sarafina, both nevertheless still a few lengths of the first. After a successful illusion, Plumania showed himself courageous, but was defeated by the harshness of his rival Midday, as he raced the filly class pole and tenacious. Asked after the arrival, his mentor admitted some relief: "I was a little worried because the tempo of the race seemed little support. The objective is achieved and I am delighted for my filly who signs here, his fifth win of Group I. She will now participate in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare. "Still quite far from the first half-straight, Sarafina fully stretched to snatch third place at his stable companion, Ashiyla, author of a magnificent defense and surprising fourth in the race. About the girl Refuse To Bent, Alain de Royer Dupre explained: "She wanted to make two accelerations during the race which cost him a bit to finish. However, she had a beautiful way and still has a great room for improvement before it. Barring unforeseen, it will take part in next Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. A long time back, Sarah ended pleasantly Lynx to fifth place with a clear distance from prosecuting her.

    Niel Price:

    Behkabad Buries Planter!

We were expecting a rematch between Behkabad Planter and the Prix Niel at Longchamp. She failed to take place in the Group II as played on the 2400 meters from the main runway. Long head, Planter was "planted" a narrow, beaten a short head by a catchy at Behkabad possible. The two champions will meet in three weeks at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with other kingpins of the genre. There will be a sport!

Behkabad or planter? The first two Grand Prix de Paris last July 14, already at Longchamp, divided the punters. Bettors reticent to identify a favorite before the start of the Prix Niel. A time listed at 2.6 / 1 against 3.4 / 1 to his opponent a few minutes before the race, Behkabad fell to 2.9 / 1 to open stalls and whispered Planter politeness (2.7 / 1 ). This means if the choice was difficult in this Group II between these two champions who stand very near the track too.

From the outset, the tone was set. Live Free, "the hare Service" Planter was his job. He took the lead ahead of its leader, closely tailed by Behkabad and Kidnapping. At the beginning of the climb, the train was very lively. The positions do not vary. Shamalgan was dead last in this mini pack. Halfway through, nothing had changed. Live Free led two lengths ahead of planter, always flanked Behkabad at his heels. Victory Pisa, the Japanese horse, was demoted and shut the march!

What a struggle in the final meters!

Then right before entering the final straight, planter took his responsibilities. A little too soon perhaps! Considering that Live Free had done enough, the partner of Anthony Crastus, secured the lead ahead Behkabad, stashed behind. The long-awaited duel began. The last 300 meters were beautiful. Planter, still leading, 100 meters from the stake, thought to have been the hardest, but Behkabad, led by the millimeter-Christophe Patrice Lemaitre great day, it blew the win in a final assault. On a tiny head!

Planter was once again settle for second place after his honorary runners in the Prix du Jockey Club and the Grand Prix de Paris. Annoying! Kidnapping took a commendable third place ahead of Victory Pisa who deludes briefly in mid-straight for a better ranking.

Christophe-Patrice Lemaire, the jockey of the winner, was relieved: "Behkabad was very brave in this race, but also Planter. These are two very good horses. I thought I could win more easily. I brought the final blow as late as possible. This is a preparatory run. It must be saved for the Arc de Triomphe. He said Behkabad just put their heads to prevail, when he had to. "

Jean-Claude Rouget, the coach happy Behkabad, using superlatives: "This is a perfect scenario, a perfect race, a super horse. It has gained a minimum. He had to save in three weeks. Behkabad is a horse easier. You can adopt whatever tactics with him. "In a good sign before the Arc de Triomphe.

    Prix Foy

    : Duncan The Surprise?!

The Prix Foy, Group II played on the 2,400 meters Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Longchamp, is traditionally considered the last pre-Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe for four years and over. A key, a batch of six participants which was the winner Duncan, the closest competitor to the neglected side. Byword and Daryakana strongly disappointed. In older horses, the total blur is one month’s big event …

Second Prize Isfahan behind Goldikova, the winner of the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Ascot on June 16 and the third International Stakes at York on August 17, byword had proved its quality at the highest level and presented in logical favorite in the Price Faith, Hill 2 euros. Daryakana, winner of the Hong Kong Vase (Group I) 13 December 2009, took her opposition to EUR 4.

Duncan quickly took the lead, taking the little group to a relatively smooth process. Behind him, there were in single file Timos, Nakayama Festa and byword, who pointed to fourth. Daryakana biding his time at the rear in the back of Chinchon. The positions varied little until the entrance of the straight line. It was indeed the timing and Timos Nakayama Festa to exit the wake of the horse head …

Timos overflowed the representative of John Gosden 200 meters from the post. The Japanese competitor showed about him more and more incisive, coming like a winner … but did not count on the hardness effort Duncan. Finding a second wind, the British took up the best competitor Nakayama Festa, who had to settle for second place while doing very promising first step on our soil. Timos not be embarrassed with his third place, because he too is an illusion for the victory before pinch slightly. Byword, fourth, never really gave the impression they can do better. As Daryakana Chinchon and they were seen at the rear from start to finish …

You know more than me there Darren!
I’ve not been too up on the 2yr olds tbh time is a factor plus I like them to run some in the decent races at least so we can get some lines to look at! :D
I guess if he is good enough then it might be the plan to go to Godolphin?
Let’s hope that he’s not another ‘Simon’…

He runs this Saturday @ Longchamps in the Prix Des Chenes – won last year by ‘Behkabad’ who clocked the same time that ‘Bago’ did when he won the same race – thus highlighting the potential way back!

    Prix des Chenes (G. III)

An impressive record in Group III
The Group III for those 2 years, which has the distinction of often reveal future cracks: Dalakhani, Bago, Behkabad. They are only four probable starters for the long race of 1600 meters. The student of Jean-Claude Rouget, Havana Smoker, and the representative of the coat of Mohammed Al Maktoum, French Navy, in particular end up there.

There are a load of form lines! Which have tangled on my desktop just having a quick look!

The ultra busy ‘King David’ runs there – link to recent winner ‘My Name Is Bond’ (who is rated & a fancy for Rouget in the Lagardere) – which your horse in question is not entered for.

Fabre’s only entry for that is ‘Spirit Of The Battle’ who was beaten by ‘Al Hazim’ in his maiden.
‘Al’ was stuffed by ‘My Name Is Bond’ last time out…
‘SOTB’ then won by 2l next time.

‘French Navy’ has run twice beating (off levels and giving weight to) ‘Salto’.

A very interesting link is ‘Chopsoave’ who has been beaten by ‘FN’ around 1.5L level & his main rival on paper ‘Havane Smoker’ 1L giving 2kg trained by Rouget.

‘My Name is Bond’ has also beat ‘Chopsoave’ by 6L off levels!

The interesting one in the race is ‘Surfrider’ trained by E Libaud who won his maiden by 3l and beat ‘Toss The Dice’ by 4.5L – he went on to be beat by ‘Grand Vent’ 1.5L (Fabre trained)

‘Amaru’ links both (but probably something was up on his second start?) ‘French Navy’ beat him 8L & then ‘Grand Vent’ 17L!

Confused or in need of a beer?! – Say yeah if it’s for the latter?! :o

Hey Darren I forgot to mention this other line last night…

‘Uldiko’ was beat 7.35L by ‘French Navy’ off levels
and then 11.5L by Freddie H’s hope for the Lagardere – ‘Moonlight Cloud’
when in receipt of a couple of pounds… :D

You’ll have to check distances etc as they are diff for a lot of this form!
But it can be found on the RPost site (most of it)…

    Prix Des Chenes

    – Group III, Saturday, September 18 at Longchamp

Awarded by the likes of subjects Dalakhani, Bago and other Behkabad, the Group III Prix des Chenes, will be one of the major events of the meeting of Saturday, September 18 at Longchamp. Competed in the mile, the event will take place in small groups with only four foals in two years the challenge. Already a winner six times, the dreadful Andre Fabre align French Navy, a "Godolphin" upscale.

Always coveted prize of the Oaks 2010 version could once again crown a true champion. Unfortunately for the sport, only four competitors have accepted the invitation. A reading of winning the rally, the names of Bago and Dalakhani two winners of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, obviously retain the attention and demonstrate the importance of this great race. Having already saddled six winners, Andre Fabre, who will present the unbeaten French Navy, could be the man of the situation

The succession of Behkabad is open!

Around seventh coronation for Andre Fabre?

Powerful son of Shamardal, French Navy be at the start, unbeaten in two attempts, and already preceded by a flattering reputation. After starting this summer and convincing victory in Deauville, this representative of the stable "Godolphin" confirmed his potential at its next output by dominating with extreme ease a lot of foals estimated. That day, his partner Maxime Guyon had also made no secret he carried the hopes in two years: "It was more professional in his debut. Is certainly a great colt should logically climb the ladder. He won his "B" easily by placing a speeding fine to finish without having to dip into its reserves. Furthermore, it is nice and does not draw. "For its third public outing, it would still show progress. Therefore, it promises to be one of the top contenders to succeed Behkabad, winner of this event in 2009 and future candidate for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Jean-Claude Rouget, as to him align his pupil, Havana Smoker . After two rounds easily removed provincial, this son of Dubawi has taken another step in a race "B" in Deauville, won in a relaxed atmosphere. Following this victory, his coach made no secret that prices Oaks was his first major objective. It could be the direct opponent to French Navy.

Author of more than pleasing debut, Surfrider should be better than a stooge. The resident Eric Libaud has not missed his first steps in competition last August 15 in Deauville, leaving his immediate pursuer to three lengths. Again assigned to Olivier Peslier, the son of Dansili is absolutely the right to match the setting for such a test, given the style of his success. King David , presented by Mathieu Boutin, try talking to her great experience but should settle for fourth place.

    8) 15/08/2010 –

    Surfrider begins triumphantly!

    8)

Surfrider has traveled within the pack during the course, a great place for acceleration to 250 meters from the pole, detach, and win in fine style. Kadu, who came to take the lead shortly after entering the straight, was powerless against the acceleration of future champion, he took the first honorable mention. Recessed Toss the Dice took third place.

    Friday 7th August 2010, Deauville

    Havane Smoker

One to note for the future!
The attraction in the €34,000 Prix des Roches Noires (2yo Males-1,500m), was by far Prairie Star (Peintre Célèbre). However in the finish of the race he was overtaken by an “avion de chasse” in the words of Christophe Soumillon (direct translation; fighter jet) named Havane Smoker (Dubawi). Keen early on in the race, Jean-Claude Rouget’s charge then showed a lot of speed to win comfortably by a length from Prairie Star. The winner has the true build of a miler and looks capable of Group class in the future. Septentrion (Numerous) finished a further length and a half back in third. Unfortunately for second placed trainer Elie Lellouche, his charge Prairie Star lashed out and kicked him in the leg after the race. He was taken away for examination but was reported to be on his feet later on in the afternoon suffering from bruising.
With this win, Havane Smoker is now unbeaten from all of his three starts, after two previous wins at Toulouse and Mont-de-Marsan. He could now head to Longchamp for the Prix des Chênes (Gr3). Jean-Claude Rouget explained afterwards: “He did what we asked of him. He is a very easy horse to train, mentally sound with a good acceleration. Christophe Soumillon said that he is a “fighter jet”. For me if he is half as good as that, I’ll be happy!” Havane Smoker was even more remarkable when we note that his time between the 400m and 200m mark was an impressive 10’’70.   8)

    French Navy

    catches the eye!
The €24,000 Prix de Crèvecoeur (Unraced 2yo Males-1600m) featured a very interesting horse in the form of the André Fabre trained French Navy (Shamardal), who runs in the famous colours of Sheikh Mohamed. French Navy took the lead coming off the final bend and after a short battle with eventual second Salto (Pivotal), he won easily by two lengths with his ears pricked. Winning jockey Maxime Guyon declared:
“He won very easily. I have never ridden him in the morning but I liked him a lot today. The first two home were a long way clear of the rest of the field with Fariman (Invincible Spirit) taking third place 4 lengths behind. The latter is the first produce of Fraloga (3rd in the "Boussac") and was the favourite before the race.

French Navy was bred by Darley and is out of First Fleet (Woodman), who won the Coupe des Pouliches at Marseille (L–2,000m). First Fleet also has a 3 year old, Sea Lord (Cape Cross), who has won 6 times in England for Mark Johnston.

Two from two for French Navy

On the 10th August, the Prix de Crèvecoeur brought French Navy (Shamardal) and Salto (Pivotal) to our attention. These two colts found each other once again on Monday in the €34,000 Prix de Saon (2yo Males-1,600m) and reconfirmed the positive impression that they gave on their first starts. André Fabre’s charge once again dominated Salto, this time by one and a half lengths. He was giving three kilos to his rival and without any stress he took the lead in the straight to go on to his second success in as many starts. After the race, winning jockey Maxime Guyon said “He won even easier today than on his first start, due to the fact that he was more professional in his attitude; I didn’t even have to ask him for an effort. He is one of the best 2 year olds that I have ridden this year.”
Trainer of second placed Salto, Freddy Head, commented “For the moment he is good over 1,600m and we will see in the future about extending the trip. He is one of my best 2 year olds in the yard.” Chopsoave (Soave) passed a test at Deauville in this race when taking third place just a head behind.
French Navy is out of First Fleet (Woodman), winner of the Coupe des Pouliches à Marseille (L – 2,000m).

Reduced to four starters, the Prix des Chenes (Group III) looks like a very promising game between Havana Smoker and French Navy. But beware Libaud Surfrider!
Saturday 18 Longchamp. Semi-classical, Oak Award (Group III), played on the mile at Longchamp, has unfortunately met only four thoroughbreds age 2 years on Saturday. For decades, this important step program reserved for the younggeneration was a springboard to the Grand Criterium. But since it has been reduced to 1,400 meters, the Prix La Rochette, raced, which became the test event. Now, the Prix des Chenes is a springboard for the Criterium International (Group I), which runs to the end of October in St. Cloud.

    French Navy

Unbeaten in his first two outings, French Navy won its first Group by winning the Prix des Chenes (Group III), September 18, 2010 at Longchamp, thereby preserving their unbeaten. A victory that makes him walk in the footsteps of champions like Dalakhani, Bago or Behkabad, which also show this group to their prestigious list.

    Prince Bishop reveals himself!

Prince Bishop had said as a good colt, winning races E and F in his last outings. But the colt trained by Andre Fabre has mounted a march by winning the Prix du Prince d’Orange, a Group III, with relative ease. A foal in progress.

Let’s start with the runner upper…(from past)

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2010:

    Youmzain

At fourteen days before the start of the 89th Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, played Sunday, October 3, 2010 the racecourse Longchamp. This season, the race seems to be open, unlike last year where the Stars Sea showed a rare superiority. Today, let’s look at the candidacy of the venerable Youmzain, second triple of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which without this status eternal second, had already joined the pantheon of gallopers.

    Youmzain

Male 7 years Sinndar (IRE) and MIDAS (IRE) (Sadler’s Wells (USA)
    Coach: Mick Channon
Jockey: Kieren Fallon / Richard Hughes
    Owner: Jaber Abdullah
    Breeder: Frank Dunne

31 races: 6 wins, 8 second places, 8 third places

    Earnings: approximately 4,039,180 euros

    Music: 3p2p4p8p (09) 10p2p3p3p2p

The faithful resident Mick Channon knows the racetrack in the Bois de Boulogne as his pocket. Four times he came to defend his chances. Four times he finished second there, including three times in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe where only Dylan Thomas, Zarkava and Sea The Stars are coming to end. The son of Sinndar Will there enough will to overcome this kind of curse? Since his second place of the Arc 2009 Youmzain did not pass the pole head, while his last victory dates back to June 2008, there are more than two years. Nevertheless, he finds the courage to finish each of his races and it shows whenever a mental warrior. Only the best beat him. This season, his best performance took part in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (IM), where it failed by a nose in front Plumania. Still this cursed second place ..

At least this 89th edition of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe will be the last chance to shine at the highest level for this brave servant. Thus, from the year 201, Youmzain begin a career as a stallion in the Haras du Quesnay and under the auspices of the Family Head. However, the pack of world championship thoroughbred seems more open than in previous years, and Harbinger, which Youmzain had finished 3rd in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (GI), will not start after its interruption career. Mick Channon had engaged his students in the Bosphorus Cup held in Turkey in early September, in order not to be too fresh from the Arc. The son of Sinndar was ultimately not played this race. Mick Channon, who respects his horse more than anything, wish to pay tribute to his comrade in the accompanying closest to the first weekend of October. The dice are then thrown out and whatever happens, Youmzain will be remembered as a great athlete.

Fair play Mick for going a diff route this time ’round…

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2010:

    Fame And Glory

While the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in 2010 approaches, played on Sunday, October 3, 2010 the racecourse Longchamp. Consider the candidacy of a born British trained in Ireland, already from the 2009 edition where he would find his competitor at the time: The Sea Stars. In 2010, Fame And Glory is at its best: preserved by his coach, he is the favorite of the Arc 2010 (with Behkabad) for many bookmakers across the Channel …

    FAME AND GLORY (GB)

Male 4 years Montjeu (IRE) and Gryada (GB) (Shirley Heights (GB))
    Trainer: Aidan P. O’Brien
Jockey Johnny Murtagh / JA Heffernan
    Owner: D. Smith / Mrs J. Magnier / Tabor
Breeder: Ptarmigan Bloodstock And Miss K. Rausing

14 races: 9 wins, 2 second places, 1 third place

    Earnings: approximately 2,691,570 euros

    Music: 1p1p1p1p3p (09) 6p6p2p1p2p1p1p (08) 1p1p

Adored by some, criticized by others who find it very overrated, Fame And Glory unleashed passions. Yet we must admit that four years driven by the famous Irish Aidan O’Brien is aptly named: the fame (Fame), he has. Glory (Glory), he won throughout his amazing career: 9 wins in 14 races. Estimated by his coach, Fame And Glory be, for many (especially across the Channel), the horse to beat in the 2010 edition of the Arc de Triomphe. And it is certain that if he is in top form, it will be very formidable.

If one believes the ratings of Timeform, Fame And Glory may be called the best horse to start in the Arc. He took advantage of it in the regretted absence of Harbinger (best rating in the world in 2010: 140) at retirement. This beautiful bay horse can boast a rating of 133, ranking best horse of Ireland. A high rating corresponds to an impressive record. Undefeated at 2 years, Fame And Glory pocketed a Group I, at this young age, since its second release: this is the Criterium de Saint-Cloud. Rested for five months, it reappears at the age of 3 years in Olympic form, earning a Group III and Group II. Everyone takes to dream of a consecration in the showpiece event for 3 years in the Channel: the Epsom Derby. But it was then that Fame And Glory will cross one who will become his greatest rival Sea The Stars. For the first time, the horse tasted defeat. Okay! Fame And Glory catches up, pocketing the Irish Derby a few weeks later.
He finds Sea The Stars in the Irish Champion Stakes, where it ranks a close second Champion John Oxx, with more than two lengths anyway. Both horses end up in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. We know the rest: Sea The Stars entered the legend, while Fame And Glory collapses, is very disappointing showing by finishing in sixth place. Transparent in the world championship thoroughbreds, one begins to doubt. Is it as good as we thought?
The answer is certainly yes. After a lackluster return in a Listed in 2010, Fame And Glory proves that it is the major quenching. Preserving by Aidan O’Brien in 2010, remains unbeaten in his last 4 outings. This year include the horse’s performance in the Irish Gold Cup (Group I), where he flew, winning by over 7 lengths. He returned in the Coronation Cup (Group I), where he beats the champion easily Sariska. His latest release date of early August in a Group II. Of course he won. Fame And Glory will come very fresh from the Arc de Triomphe, ready to take his revenge by conquest. He would walk straight into the footsteps of Dylan Thomas, another O’Brien performance sometimes excellent, sometimes disappointing … To win and to endorse the glory and fame offered by the legend of the Arc.

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2010:

    Plumania

Twelve days before the start of the 89th Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, played Sunday, October 3, 2010 the racecourse Longchamp. This season, the race seems to be open, unlike last year where the Stars Sea showed a rare superiority. Today, let’s look at the candidacy of Plumania regularly in the shadow of her sister snagging Goldikova, but has exploded this season, particularly following his victory in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.

    Plumania

Female 4 years Anabaa (USA) and Featherquest (GB) (Featherhill)
    Trainer: Andre Fabre
    Jockey Olivier Peslier
    Owner: Wertheimer Brothers
    Breeder: Wertheimer et Frères

14 races: 3 wins, 3 second places, 3 third places

    Earnings: approximately 638 045 euros

    Music: 2p1p1p4p4p (09) 3p2p3p3p5p

Runners of prestige and car choice for his debut

Plumania is in training with Andre Fabre since his racing debut in 2008. Since opening his record at the age of 2 years on the racetrack in the Bois de Boulogne, daughter of Anabaa we had more used to the runners up places of honor or prestige. When she was 3 years Stacelita has regularly crossed the road. Fifth Prize Saint-Alary, Plumania could not do better than third in the Prix de Diane before losing narrowly and once again the face of protected Jean-Claude Rouget in the Prix Vermeille, including finishing second. Concluding his 2009 and after fierce fighting, the Prix de Royallieu was the latest installment of the filly. But once again, she had to admit defeat, especially in the face Daryakana then in full possession of his faculties, and could not do as well as his sister Ballads, winner of this event in 2008. Clan Wertheimer could still be proud to show her representative in view of his year, remained to be seen how the filly would digest its transition from 3 to 4 years.

Wear the colors of the coat Wertheimer

    & loves good ground!
Following two inglorious exits after a deserved rest, Plumania was finally rewarded for his efforts by winning the Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud (G. II, 2100 meters) before obtaining the consecration by winning the Grand Prix St. Cloud (IM, 2400 meters), facing the male and opponents such as Youmzain or Dayakana . Consequently, and by engaging in the next Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Andre Fabre had identified all the potential he could get the filly, which won him the race queen twice over the past decade (Rail Link in 2006, Hurricane Run in 2005). Its owners, the Wertheimer brothers, walked on water course through the exceptional performance of Goldikova, but their coat had not been seen on the first Sunday of October since the participation of Prospect Park in 2004. The owners of Chanel could now hope to add a little more fast to their famous colors, the last victory of the blue jacket, white sleeves, hat blanque, dating back to 1981 with Gold River, then led by Alec Head for Jacques Wertheimer their dad. His good second place behind the recent price Midday in Vermilion, she will not find its way into the Arc, then gives him the opportunity to speak in the most prestigious events.

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2010:

    Sarafina

At eleven days before the start of the 89th Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, played Sunday, October 3, 2010 the racecourse Longchamp. Sarafina, winner of the Prix de Diane 2010, will obviously be one of the most serious contenders for the Holy Grail. It will seek to join the winners Dalakhani (2003), Zarkava (2008), the final two jewels of His Highness the Aga Khan in the main event.

    Sarafina

Female 3 years by Refuse To Bend and Sanariya
    Trainer Alain de Royer Dupre
    Jockey: Christophe-Patrice Lemaire
    Owner: HH Aga Khan
    Breeder: HH Aga Khan

    4 races: 3 wins, 1 third place

    Earnings: 611,970 euros

    Music: 3p1p1p1p

    Sweet Music?!

    A belated but gifted filly

Sarafina has made its first steps in the race until May of his 3 years. It was more than just the 3 on the racetrack at Chantilly. That day, the daughter of Refuse To Bend took part in the Sandstone Prize, a race for F unreleased 3 years to 1600 meters. The representative of His Highness the Aga Khan was needed immediately, against big underdogs Medusa Blue Green and Ty (after downgrading Timepecker). A little ahead of her runner, but an acceleration of leaving class a visual impression sensational. His entourage was not in half measures by presenting it right out next to a Group I! Indeed, Sarafina sprang initially Prix Saint-Alary at Longchamp on May 23, seeing the same award for favorite status.

Locked up at boot time, she and her jockey Gerald Mosse somewhat forced the "door" before ending up at full speed and adjust Deluxe. Maintained after investigation, Sarafina and justified the hopes placed in it, winning a true boss. Therefore, the logical continuation of classical program took her to the Prix de Diane race queen fillies 3 years old, played June 13 in Chantilly. Racecourse Princes of Conde, the scene of his triumphant debut. Theatre also two years earlier for the ride of a certain Zarkava, which reduced the role of dancer Goldikova. The girl was she Sanariya succeed his illustrious predecessor in the ranking of this prestigious event?
The answer is yes. And how … After galloping freely in the second half of the small pack, Sarafina came to take the lead in mid-straight and has never been bothered by then good for her companion race and color Rosanara Sandbar. Unbeaten in three outings, including two Group I races, the little game of comparisons with Zarkava could begin. Later than its predecessor, for sure. Gifted, is incontestable. But why compare the incomparable. Sarafina Sarafina is, and it’s already amazing! Like many contenders Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Sarafina was on his back on track Sunday, September 12 at Longchamp, Prix Vermeille day, Niel and Foy, all three preparatory to the grand appointment of the first Sunday in October. The occasion of the gauge after a summer rest well deserved.
Sarafina it is shown rather disappointing, having to settle for third place with no way. Certainly, there is no shame in being beaten by Midday, multiple winner of Group I races, and Plumania, who had defeated Youmzain in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud 2010. But the winner of the Prix de Diane was preceded Ashiyla – which was devoted to his cause – as a short head, which is obviously not exciting. To its credit, the partner Christophe Lemaire has recovered a bit far from its main rival at the decisive moment and was far from his best form. Alain de Royer Dupre knows how to prepare the major events and Sarafina is certainly at its best level on the first Sunday of October. She has on her back Christophe Lemaire, conspicuously absent from the showpiece event last year due to injury, and who will be keen to highlight. Finally, fans of turf remember the real raid carried out by His Highness the Aga Khan at the weekend ‘s 2009 "Arc", with a total of seven unique races Group I to the key!

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2010:

    Duncan

Ten days before the start of the 89th Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, played Sunday, October 3, 2010 the racecourse Longchamp. Duncan, recent winner of the Prix Foy surprise Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Longchamp, should be of the party.

    Duncan

Male 5 years Dalakhani and Dolores
    Trainer: John HM Gosden
    Jockey: William Buick
    Owner: Normandy Stud Ltd

14 races: 4 wins, four second places, 1 third place

Earnings: around 360,000 euros (wins and places)

    Music: 1p4p2p2p (09) 3p9p4p1p1p

A disappointing year for 3 years

Duncan did not immediately revealed as a champion. He makes his first outing July 18, 2008, in the summer of his 3 years. In a small race "class four", held on the mile of Newmarket, it ranks a shoulder Summerstrand. The son of Dalakhani will wait his third trip to open his record in a "class five" run Sept. 18 at Pontefract. It will follow two failures clear enough at the end of the year in "class one" played at Newmarket. Duncan closed his year and 3 years. Difficult to imagine when one is dealing with a champion …

A thundering return to 4 years

But Duncan has not yet revealed its full potential. The protégé of John Gosden makes his return on April 22 at Epsom, facing 19 opponents in the Heritage Handicap (class two). Ridden by Jimmy Fortune, he flew in the finals, leaving the runner up to two and a half lengths. The winter seems to have done the most good. So much so that Duncan doubled the lead three weeks later at Ascot, beating three lengths Starfala three quarters. So logically that his entourage decided to try their luck at the group level. Duncan took part in the famous Coronation Cup (Group I), contested at Epsom on June 5 …

The pleasant debut at the highest level

Duncan does more than defend himself, concluding the fourth but less than a length of winner and the runner Ask Youmzain. Tardif, Duncan seemed at last find the right carburetor against the best. However, it will not respond fully to the expectations of those around him during his two outings following four years. Indeed, he finds good last Princess of Wales’s Blue Square Stakes (Group II) July 9 to Newmarket and then third (of eight) of a Group III on August 8 at Haydock.
But his entourage edge: Duncan continued his career at age 5. A favorite at 8 / 10 of a Listed for his return May 8, 2010 in Ascot, Duncan had to settle for second place, beaten by Barshiba. It will then rank second in net Harbinger in Hardwicke Stakes (Group II) June 19, again at Ascot. A Harbinger which then fly eleven lengths the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Group I) … Duncan will rank fourth in a Group III before then to take the lead at Longchamp and the Prix Foy, Group II played Sept. 12 and serves as the ultimate pre-Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Abandoned, he won the Prix Foy at 14 / 1!

Competitor of the most neglected small platoon to score 14 / 1, he shows great hardness effort starting again under attack from Japanese Nakayama Festa incisors and Timos. Outright win for his trainer John Gosden, who said after the victory of his protege: "There was no rhythm in this test as often in France, but for us it has not caused problems. The Japanese Festa Nakayama was hard but the British are "strong". "This force could well allow Duncan to back off on the first Sunday of October. It will be his ability to gallop immediately to a high rate, given his experience platoons and group events. These advantages may allow him to aim high in the 2010 edition of the "Arc" without scarecrow.
