French runners probably wondered what the hell hit them as I doubt many (if any) have ever been in a race run like that.

The invaders fielded the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th (and 5 of the first 6 home) and I wonder whether Kieran had a rye chuckle to himself seeing that Luther (4th) turned the Chelmsford form around with the Colin Keane ridden, Gosden trained Detain (6th) ;-)

I was rather hoping that Kieran would finish in front of the Gosden runners! ( in fact I even had a bet on him and am pleasantly surprised to find that he’d finished 4th and not 5th which is where I thought was).

“1000 Guineas looks decent enough too.. The fav looks a class act and had another gear but Shes Perfect was close enough to have a pop at 12/1”

    AOB on Henri’s win:
O’Brien told Sky Sports Racing: “We were delighted. He’s a horse that doesn’t like to be in front too long and obviously it was a nice, even pace and we were hoping it was going to be like that”

Hoping? He has obviously taken the maxim “The Lord helps those who help themselves” to heart. The only way it wasn’t going to be an “even” (strong, suicidal) pace was if Serengeti fell over or was abducted by aliens upon exiting the stalls.

    Racing Post said:
,”Sean Levey deserves much credit for rousting stablemate Serengeti into the early lead and setting a furious gallop. The pair may have finished last, but they very much deserve the assist”
I’m pretty sure even I could kick a horse into the lead in a race like that if I was instructed to do so and not worry if the horse finished or not. It doesn’t exactly take much- or any- skill.

“it was an evenly run race and when the race is like that everyone gets a chance.” Except the horse that you’ve forced to cut its own throat.

I’m not stupid enough to be surprised I’m just tired of the mealy mouthed bollocks the genius spouts. It’s a mite easier to be the all conquering maestro when you can shovel any number of expensively bred horses onto the fire. Oh well, the sacrifical victim today wasn’t a Frankel colt so that makes a bit of a change I suppose.

To be fair you tend to need a pace maker in these French races and they were a couple from other stables . They didn’t run any in the English races and folks were complaining about the lack of pace in both :yahoo: :yahoo:
