Mr Wilson,
I hope you didn’t have a nocturnal pollution and
damaged your silks.September 30, 2010 at 23:33 #320241Great news that Saamidd runs in the Dewhurst so that Frankel has a proper animal to cross swords with. If he perfroms another one horse demolition job there then there will be little doubt he will be a deserved champion 2-y-o unless Strong Suit does something spectacular tomorrow.

I believe Dream Ahead will slaughter Strong Suit

I believe Approve will beat them both. 12/1 is worth an each way.
October 1, 2010 at 14:03 #320282Liking Zarkava’s post about the BIG S.African horse. Agree with the parellel being drawn.
Frankel looks a v. well developed type & it’ll be interesting to see him when he’s a 3yo. I suspect he’s possibly all he’s going to be already … short-to-mile distance contender. It’ll also be ‘interesting’ to see how Godolphin fare next year, with the training team changes.
Will Saamid survive the blue curse? One can but hope.
Hazarding a guess: it’s Frankel this year, Saamid next.

He managed a place. What a performance from the winner.
October 1, 2010 at 14:27 #320286With Sea The Stars, Harbinger and potential of Frankel to emulate; are we living in another "Golden Era", to rival The Brigadier, Mill Reef, Nijinsky etc?
Add Dream Ahead to that list.
Value Is EverythingOctober 1, 2010 at 14:54 #320290Sorry ,I posted this originally under HF.Just below.Casual error.

Only a matter of time wasn’t it? Having missed the boat with Frankel you have found one to put up against him. Good luck with the 6/1 – it would look a half-decent bet if you could say for sure the 2,000 Guineas was going to be run over six furlongs on soft ground.

He’s a monster, stilvi, and should have little trouble staying a mile. The ground, however, is a big concern; he’s a sizeable animal and has a very round action.
I would have thought he’s a doubt to even line up in May given the likelihood of fast ground, but he’s won in a canter today, beaten proven horses and still looked green. He won’t be avoiding Frankel out of fear, that’s for sure.
October 2, 2010 at 00:27 #320388I don’t think connections would so much as dream of running Dream Ahead on ground any faster than good, and on such ground he’ll be vulnerable. He’s a turbo charged tractor, and looks unbeatable on soft at this stage! That was awesome.
October 2, 2010 at 03:57 #320394I really thought Frankel looked the part, well impressed
October 2, 2010 at 04:44 #320395I noted in the discussion about the QE2 a few people
had commented that AOB was running Rip because he
desperately wanted Galileo to sire Champion Milers.
Ironic then on Saturday we may have seen Galileo sire
a potential champion at any distance including a mile.
While upset that they dont train him, im sure
Ballydoyle and Coolmore were not overly disappointed
with what happened. What Frankel produced especially
off a slow gallop was simply breathtaking and had it
been a scorching pace he probably would have set a time
which was close to standard despite the fact most other
races were run several seconds slower.
Opposition was
poor alright but had it been a higher quality race he
would have just made some top notch horses look silly.
Best 2yr old performance i have seen in my lifetime and
lets just hope he stays injury free, that is always the
big fear with these valuable horses. Wonderful too for
Cecil to have a potential superstar, Couldnt happen to
a nicer and more dignified man.
October 2, 2010 at 08:13 #320402Interested to hear what the form boys think – Surely Dream Ahead’s win, 9 lengths over a Coventry Stakes winner, has the edge.
You’d always be wary of a wide margin win on soft ground though and, as everyone has been mentioning, he looks like a horse that needs it no firmer than good.
Still, two Group 1 wins in singularly impressive fashion. I’m with TAPK (for once), Dream Ahead looks the value at this stage.
