    OK here’s the plan.

Lucinda Russell and Peter Buchanan have kindly agreed to meet up with us before racing (thanks Lekha!) and the best time for them is 11.45 (an hour and a quarter before first race) as they have a busy day later.

We’ll meet outside the weighing room and then retire to the bar. Anyone who wants a contact in case of problems pm me your mobile no and I’ll pass my mobile number on to you.

    Is that OK?

Slight alteration to the plans since Lucinda now only has runners in the first and second last.

To meet with Lucinda we will go to the paddock bar (also called Rosies Bistro) at the bottom of the parade ring at 1.45pm and Lucinda (and hopefully Peter depending on if he gets any more rides) will meet us there.

Thanks for the update Lekha – 1.45pm at the Paddock Bar (Rosie’s Bistro) for the Lucinda Russell meet. Good stuff.

For the forum meet up how about 12.30 outside weighing room and take it from there. I have some mobile numbers (I’ll pm mine to you all later) but if anyone else wants my contact in case of late arrivals/mix ups, etc please pm me and I’ll send it to you.

I’m easy to spot as I’ll be the only one at the meeting who bears a passing resemblance to Brad Pitt. Er, no, not really. What might be better than that is if I tell you I’ll be wearing a long black coat, I wear glasses and I’ll def be directly outside the weighing room at exactly 12.30.

    Looking forward to it.

Unluckily – or luckily, depending on your point of view – I must declare myself a late non-runner for tomorrow in a Hen Knight styleeee. Work didn’t pay me before the weekend, as I’d hoped, and remaining funds won’t get me there and back, even if jumping the perimeter fence and ligging food and nosh all afternoon.

    Arse and indeed biscuits.

No matter, I shall be putting in a leave request for Tuesday, May 8th next week in order to take in and enjoy day one of the Kelso Festival – I very much look forward to meeting any TRFfers around on that day.

Have a very good one, and catch y’all soon.

I knew the lure of Thorpe Lodge/Cottenham* (delete as applicable) would be too strong!

Good day, dry weather and some competitive racing.

Many thanks to all who came along to say hello, it was great to meet you all. Well done to those who backed the winners (you know who you are!) and thanks to Sulekha for arranging the Lucinda Russell meet.

Particular well done to Rob North who showed me a piece of paper at the start of the day which I ignored but which contained Rob’s notes on each race and had three/four names per race among whom, I later discovered, were the winners of EVERY RACE ON THE CARD!!!!

Jim – hope you got the winner of the 5.05!!!

Hopefully see you all again soon.

Yes good to put some faces to the names.  Didn’t manage to spend much time with the group but maybe next time.
