Fondmort is a fav of mine, magnificent jumper and he has been fabulous at cheltenham in seasons gone by, my thoughts are with connections and hope he pulls through.

Clive, not starting a witch hunt against you but I think your comments are a little insensitive especially that the horse is fighting for his life….

    Hi johnjdonoghue

    I agree.

Give clivex a good ducking, and then burn him at the stake.

    best wishes from<br>carlisle

    As opposed to decking Clivex?

What’s the latest update on Fondmort, I haven’t heard anything for a while?

    Just try it fsl

anyway…news is better now apparently :)

Nicky Henderson believes Fondmort is "round the corner" as he continues his recovery from a life-threatening injury.

Although Henderson stressed his popular 10-year-old is not in the clear yet, he issued an upbeat bulletin on the gelding’s recovery from a broken pelvis sustained in a gallops accident earlier in the week.

It was later discovered he was also suffering from internal bleeding, but after making steady progress at the RVG Valley Equine Hospital in Lambourn, Henderson feels there is now cause for quiet optimism.

Speaking on Channel 4 Racing, he said: "They’ve been saying this morning that he’s been allowed to have some food for the first time which is good.

"He’s much brighter too so although we’re not over the hill, we are round the corner.

"His own will has been his trademark all his life and he’s a fantastic patient to go with it.

"The other thing is that he has a great temperament and that is what’s helping him."

Fondmort was on the morning line this morning.

Francome went to see him and, while he’s not 100% safe yet, he looks in good order and the vet was positive.

Good to be able to see the old boy again (Fondmort, not Francome).
