Just been catching up on the reading……
looks like you been having a fair old time here ..well done!
and if I might …MOTAKHAYYEL …looks destined for better things although probably not handicaps.
good luck to allJuly 13, 2020 at 00:57 #1493765Thanks Kid, been unreal how it’s went so far.
That was a sore one with Motakhayyel yesterday. I knew he was good, and he was a winner for me at Ascot, so should have stayed loyal to him. He won with more to spare than it looked, and at a decent price too.
Completely agree, he looks as if he should continue to progress nicely.
July 14, 2020 at 15:43 #1493859Few entered up this week…..
Chiefofchiefs
Euchen Glen
Gulliver
Omnivega
Romantic Proposal
Ropey Guest
Protected GuestObviously for me, my attention will be fully on Euchen Glen on Saturday, with a view to The Ebor, but also of serious interest is Omnivega at Kempton tomorrow night.
July 16, 2020 at 12:42 #1493987Very pleased with Omnivega last night, and I was delighted with the 7’s as well. He generally drifted all day, touching 8’s, but not complaining.
Competitive enough race, and he I thought he was going away at the end.
Should definitely be more to come.
July 17, 2020 at 17:18 #1494181Very eyecatching run from Chief of Police at Limerick today.
Not sure whether he’ll remain on the level, or go back over fences or timber, but he’s on the radar now, and I think he’ll be winning over some code.
I’d sway towards the jumps with him, but I think he’s worth a mention for The Flat too.
July 18, 2020 at 20:41 #1494304Couldn’t ask for any more today.
Euchen Glen was my biggest punt so far this season, getting the place money at 33’s, while Romantic Proposal winning at, just holding off Gulliver, was the perfect result.
Pleased for the thread, to have those results from the two big handicaps of the day.
July 20, 2020 at 21:32 #1494553Good few entered this week….
Agincourt
Ayr Harbour
Blackheath
Chiefofchiefs
Ebury
Gulliver
Protected Guest…but a few multiple entries, so I’ll be reluctant to dive in
July 25, 2020 at 11:34 #1494959Three of them entered up in The International today.
I’m with Chiefofchiefs and Blackheath, so it will be frustrating if Ebury does the business, but although I’m happy to have three in a race just not this one.
Ayr Harbour is a whopping 80-1 later on the card. I don’t think he’ll win, but I think he’ll outrun those odds, and I’ll definitely have an interest at that price.
July 25, 2020 at 15:14 #1495005Blackheath quite average today, and if I’m being honest, probably regretting adding him to this thread, as he’s probably as high as he wants to be now. Less said about Ebury, the better.
Very happy with Chiefofchiefs today, for all he was just a win bet for me. He’s definitely got another one in him, and though he won The Silver Wokingham over much shorter, I haven’t given up on him in The Cambridgeshire.
Talking of The Cambridgeshire, Verboten is entered at Goodwood. Think this is a nice horse, and I’m happy to add him to the thread.
Ayr Harbour was well held, but as strange as it sounds off the back of that, he’s more of a long term one, and still hopeful about him.
July 26, 2020 at 02:26 #1495072Couple out at Ascot today…..
Agincourt runs in The Valiant Fillies, which again, definitely isn’t a Handicap, but back here I think she’s a solid price at 5’s.
Protected Guest runs in The Virginia Water, and I’m hoping he can make a mockery of the 25’s. He’s looking increasingly quirky, but this is a good opportunity for him.
July 27, 2020 at 00:32 #1495167Plenty of excuses for Agincourt today, and I’ll definitely stick with her.
Not so Protected Guest. As I said, increasingly quirky, and I’m finding it hard to persevere with him.
August 4, 2020 at 23:46 #1496304Generally disappointing week there, with a few…..
Agincourt
Chief of Police
Dalton Highway
Gulliver
Its’afreebee
Verbotenall disappointing. Agincourt and Dalton Highway I had biggest hopes for, but never dangerous. Special mention for Verboten, who was awful.
Much better though were Overwrite and Euchen Glen.
Overwrite did everything right in the finale at Goodwood, and just chinned.
Euchen ran a stormer begins Stradivarius, and was chuffed to bits with him. Not completely out of The Ebor yet.Romantic Proposal and Omnivega entered this weekend, and hopefully they can run big races.
August 5, 2020 at 19:05 #1496374Surprised to see I Overwrite out so quickly, in the 1640 at Bath.
He’ll win as well……….cause I’m no backing him.
August 7, 2020 at 13:56 #1496477Overwrite flopped badly yesterday, and a nice reminder of why I rarely back shorties.
August 7, 2020 at 14:03 #1496478Three out this weekend.
I’m most hopeful about Omnivega in The Thames Hospice at Ascot. This is another big step up for him, and he probably has to win this, to be as good as I think he could. He’ll meet Protected Guest in that race, and as I’ve mentioned, he’s getting harder to justify the mentions he’s getting. Increasingly quirky, and I’d be happy to draw a line through him, but he’s one of those who’ll pop up at some point, and it’s all about catching him at a price.
The steady, if not spectacular, Gulliver, runs in The Phoenix Sprint, and will give me some interest in the absence of Romantic Proposal.
August 7, 2020 at 14:16 #1496480Harrovian
Not given up on him, despite his flop at York.Runs in the 1710 at Newmarket tomorrow. I’m hoping a respectable run there without winning, will be enough to keep him on a handy looking mark, which should put him bang in contention for some of the big handicaps later in the season.
August 17, 2020 at 23:44 #1497572Been a few out since last update.
Overwrite first past the post at the weekend, but he rightly lost the race, as the interference with the runner up, was significant. He was a tempting price when markets opened, but I thought against it, and I’m glad I left him.
Less said about Ayr Harbour, and Blackheath the better, and I’m glad I ditched them. I was going to have a small last minute bet on Blackheath, but decided against it. Right Decision.
