Yet another daft geographical clash in the fixture list looms. On Monday both Newcastle and Redcar have flat race meetings in the same afternoon slot. It’s bad enough when Lingfield and Fontwell clash or Market Rasen and Southwell, but at least in those cases they are offering a choice of all weather or jumping. Hard luck on local punters who obviously can’t be in two places at once. One other thing…I read the name of the second race on the Redcar card is the "Redcar racecourse cheapest admission in Britain selling stakes". Surely that’s factually wrong unless its free to get in – an offer that applies to the majority of Towcester meetings, a course that over the year arguably offers the best deal.
