You chaps would know my father in law Fred Buller ,who regularly gets his book reviews in the Times. Falkus & Bullers Freshwater Fishing , Freds the Domesday book of Mammouth Pike etc.
He took me fishing to the Delphi in the West of Ireland about fifteen years back ,along with a selection of the principal illustrious fishing authors in Europe. I had been a sea/game fisherman but never fresh . Fish were very scarce but after two days I caught a fine sea trout and was awarded the Delphi silver salmon being the only fish caught so far. This continued through out the week and at the end of the week was awarded the real silver salmon badge to keep ,being the only fish caught . These experts all looked a little sheepish and I think my father in law was a little embarassed by my hardly deserved success . Some of them had fished there a lifetime to try to win this badge.
ce`st la vieA pike angling god Roddy! I have a very old book penned by Fred, Hugh Faulkus and the great Dick Walker. The Doomsday Book Of Mammoth Pike is a pike fishing bible.
Thanks for posting.

If you want your book signed by Fred you could send it to me Hammy. My e mail is roddy@foodnet.ltd.uk
Sorry Roddy, I’ve only just noticed this. TBH the book is an old paperback and probably not worth troubling Fred with. Thanks anyway though.
