Leaving aside the generic thread on grey horses, I thought we could have a dedicated thread on this season’s (so far) star performer.
Timeform have him on 132p after his Ascot romp, while RPR have awarded him a lofty 131, which puts him ahead of his sire, Kingman, who only reached 129. For the sake of comparison, Kingman’s final Timeform rating was 134.
The Racing Post has even had a discussion asking if Field Of Gold is the best since Frankel! Obviously, it’s all preposterous clickbait, but it’ll be interesting to see where his career goes from here.
June 25, 2025 at 19:03 #1734648The comparison starts only, if he’s kept in training next year. He might be the best of the three Guineas winners, but let’s see how he does when stepped up to 10f. Another superstar miler retiring at three wouldn’t be anything special.
Half the RP articles seem like preposterous clickbait to me.
June 25, 2025 at 19:53 #1734653Lake Victoria would beat him. She ran close to 42mph in the guineas
July 29, 2025 at 22:39 #1737150Anyone taking him on tomorrow?
July 29, 2025 at 22:56 #1737152Wonder what the Ballydoyle plan is with their two runners.
The more I know the less I understand.
