It’s a great shame Exeter, Perth and Kelso have been lost to At The Races, from the point of view of people like me who haven’t got Racing UK.
I keep reading comments in various places about how much better quality the pictures are on Racing UK. Even on an HD TV, the ATR pictures are so unbelievably blurred, it’s an embarrassment.
As mentioned elsewhere, the ATR pictures are like watching the blurred, poorly defined World of Sport pictures from the 1970s of the ITV 7. It’s no exaggeration.
I understand that even some 1970s porn movies had better quality pictures than ATR’s — and at least the naughty movies didn’t feature Sir Bob Cooper or Jason Weaver.May 4, 2012 at 20:41 #403017Must say I have never had problems with the ATR pictures. Same standard as RUK IMO.
Must be your area Crusty Patch
Personally I prefer ATR to RUKMay 5, 2012 at 03:33 #403046I understand that even some 1970s porn movies had better quality pictures than ATR’s — and at least the naughty movies didn’t feature Sir Bob Cooper or Jason Weaver.

Personally I prefer ATR to RUKMe 2 and I watch them on laptop, they do seem a bit greyer in colour but it dosnt cause a problem.
May 5, 2012 at 06:16 #403049Might just be my eyes, but there appears to be a crispness and clarity with pictures on RUK, while ATR seems a bit more "pixelly".

Naturally, I haven’t seen any of the dodgy films myself but I’m told that, in Confessions Of A Racing Presenter, Matt Chapman has a very small part. I have to say, it didn’t come as any great surprise.

Yes, the pictures are a lot sharper and yes, ATR do spend too much time on Irish racing; but it’s supplied free to the very core of support racing needs.
At so much per month, Racing UK is not viable to the average ‘stay at home’ racing fan. Sky Movies is only an extra £8 in comparison. If RUK was (say) £4 a month extra, then people would consider it. Until then, racing continues to shoot itself in the foot by closing the door to thousands of people who might just like to go racing.
That leads me onto the topic of entry charges at tracks……!
Over-priced or what. No wonder the racing pool as a whole is dwindling. No amount of new promotions, staged competitions, team events will help. Racing has changed the demograhic of the clients they should be after. - AuthorPosts
