I don’t often take note of a horse but I did around 18 months ago when I saw a horse called EMPIRACLE win a NHF race at Huntingdon with considerable ease. From what I recall the jockey never came off the bridle even on the run in, the pair just cruised through to victory. Pure Style finished 7 lengths second that day and was placed 2nd in a Class 3 Novices Hurdle next time out, which adds weight to the argument to follow Empiracle.
The trouble is, he has never bbeen seen on a racecourse since and I wondered if anyone had heard anything about this horse? Currently a 7yo that has only raced once and trained (still?) by Jeremy Scott. He was being aimed at the Cheltenham Bumper in 2013 but the ground wasn’t considered soft enough. The only comment I have managed to find is from the trainer "I always thought he was a tool at home and now I might be able to sell him" which was made right after his only race.
Anyone know anything?
April 7, 2014 at 13:34 #474907Ruled out for season by Scott before Xmas due to a tendon injury. Was to go for the Supreme at Cheltenham. Injury also ruled him out of 2013 Cheltenham where he was ante-post fav.
April 7, 2014 at 17:14 #474917Thanks for that, I will definitely be keeping an eye out for him in the new season. If you ever get chance to see the race at Huntingdon, I recommend watching it.
