The market prefers Marine but I’ll try Majborough. I expect his Hilly Way exertions told from the back of the last at Christmas.
Jumping of course the issue but Walsh had Kaid d’Authie in a lovely rhythm and jumping smoothly earlier without interfering with the horse, hoping for similar.

Marine if he can handle the ground should win this before taking another Champion

    Well done, GAG.

That was very impressive, but the rest (with the possible exception of Found A Fifty) have all run well below form.

With all Barry Connell talk he should be able to handle anything.

He’ll handle better ground at Cheltenham , hopefully they’ll be a mad dash down and I’ll get a bigger price on Marine , today was perfect for Jps horse , Cheltenham won’t be

    Star of the sport HDLG??

Barry Connell well and truly left with egg on his face today.

The cheeckpieces have worked wonders for the winner just like with State Man last season.

How many times have I suggested Nicky should try them on Constitution Hill. Instead he’s watched him fall time after time and preparing to run on the flat now.

    Thanks all.

There we go. Lovely to watch and Walsh is excellent at the art of leaving a horse alone and not pushing or pulling about in front of a fence.

Not sure the bends and undulations of the Old Course at Cheltenham will suit Kaid d’Authie or Majorough who are similar types physically, but Leopardstown is the perfect place to watch them in full big striding flow.

Marine better pray for better ground at Cheltenham and Connell probably needs to keep his own counsel a bit more rather than running his mouth about his horse….invariably it comes back to bite you.

That was Majborough’s career best jumping wise and he has also won on good ground too so more versatile than Marine – jumping like that at Cheltenham and it won’t matter what ground conditions are.

” I wonder if they’ve put the blinkers on Majborough ”
i asked two weeks ago with news about Jonbon possibly going Ryanair

Well it was the cheek pieces and haven’t they done the trick.

Some bad runs in behind him though

GM it’ll be chocolate eggs come Cheltenham , I get the hate for the trainer but that’s not the horses fault , better ground at Cheltenham Marine will leave the JP horse for dead , he won’t get a easy lead or heavy ground at Cheltenham , at full pelt he’ll clatter 2 or 3 to

Amazing time clocked as well considering the conditions, slow by just 3.10s – yes the chase course would appear (comparatively speaking) quicker than the hurdles course but the other chase was slow by 19.90s.

Well done, green. It was a solid round of jumping with the CC picture becoming unclearer.

I am not sure last year’s Champion Chase form is all that strong – yes Jonbon was 2nd but his mistake cost him any chance he had of winning and in 3rd you had Captain Guiness who’s last win was when he was handed the 2024 Champion Chase after El Fabiolo and Edwardstone both failed to complete.

Cheltenham won’t let the ground get quicker than good to soft (Majborough has won on good ground as a novice) but given the wet weather we have had a lot of so far, you could argue we are much more likely to get a soft ground (or worse) Festival this year.

JPs horse got beat in a arkle by a 3 miler … I wouldn’t throw stones in a glass house , Marine has won a supreme and a Champion , that’s as good as 2 mile form as you’ll get , calm by him a email is a joke , JPs horse is the email , needs heavy ground for his best form
