I think this could be one of the bankers of the meeting in what is traditionally one of the weakest two year old races of the week.
Drafted ran quicker than Jealous again did when running over the same distance at Keeneland. In fact he ran quicker than any Wesley Ward runner has done over that trip or any horse for that matter when breaking the course record.
Trained by Eoin Hartey who reported he did a fantastic piece of work:https://www.ascot.co.uk/record-breaking-us-sprinter-drafted-set-royal-ascot
June 12, 2016 at 17:58 #1250967I don’t think any of the American juveniles are bankers on soft ground.
Mister Trader has been the mover over the last 24 hours.
June 12, 2016 at 18:31 #1250973Two big priced ones for me in the BIG LACHIE 66/1 and KANANEE 16/1.
This race sometimes produces a big price winner and Jamie Osborne has won it before so Big Lachie for me!!

You’re right to be honest when I made this post I forgot about the ground situation. This Drafted looks an out and out speedball so that could be a worry for it if the race turns into a slog. It’s class might pull him through though.
Mister trader’s form looks pretty good and could look a lot better if Caravaggio wins the Coventry. He looks super solid.
Raymo I had a look at your Kananee horse and he looks fairly solid. Godolphin seem to be doing very well with their two year olds and I notice this one is by Exceed and Excel who has an excellent record in two year old races at Royal Ascot and is also one of the best Sires when it comes to runners on a straight track.
June 13, 2016 at 13:31 #1251085He has handled everything thrown at him so far. Ground is a concern as is the undulating surface but he is very confident to have brought him over from San Diego for this one race. A great shout at 4/5s
June 13, 2016 at 23:00 #1251195Bit surprised at the support for Battaash. Priced up as if he is going to improve for the soft ground. I may be wrong but I think the surface will prove to be a major handicap.
June 14, 2016 at 09:52 #1251240Mister trader heavily punted and now down to 4-1.
Must admit got involved with him at 7-1 yesterday partly on the advice given on here. American horses are friendless, will be interesting to see how they cope with the ground.
June 14, 2016 at 10:08 #1251244I did rank outsider Yulong Baobei for this at 20/1.
Second to Cuff, who was 1000 Guineas and Albany favourite, last time, I think back at 5F she was too big a price with the US horses unlikely to like the ground.
Drafted is 8/1 now and Big City Dreamin 10/1, after being 5/1 JFs for long enough.
Wesley Ward said he felt the rains were going to hinder all of his runners this week.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Any reason why you think that Stilvi? A lot of Dark Angel’s don’t mind a softer surface, Meccas Angel being an example.
June 14, 2016 at 13:53 #1251287I don’t think Battaash is good enough, that’s a bigger problem than the ground.
Visually impressive perhaps at Bath but the time was nothing special.
June 14, 2016 at 13:53 #1251289Watch it jizz up now I’ve said that.

Steady on Judge! Not before the race I hope
June 14, 2016 at 16:46 #1251346Mister Trader now into 5-2 which seems incredibly short even if the form was boosted by Caravaggio. A huge punt on it.
Especially as it has very little chance now it’s carrying my money
June 14, 2016 at 17:42 #1251368Mister trader stuffed. No surprise the way i’m running. Couldn’t buy a winner at the moment.
Drafted also put in his place. Gosden winner goes off a huge price, how did we miss that?!

Gpsden’s horse won a Yarmouth maiden just six days ago and was rated 80 coming into this. Perhaps the soft ground has resulted in the big improvement today but he wasn’t one that anybody could have backed with confidence today, sometimes that happens in racing.
I backed Yulong Boabei at 20/1 and she showed good speed, almost in the lead at one stage I feel, but she weakened in the final furlong. She performed a lot better than many of the fancied runners.
The runner up Savannah’s Dream came into this rated only 68 and went off at 100/1 here, which just shows that it can be a funny old game with these unexposed sprinters on soft ground.
Mister Trader was a silly price, driven by the Caravaggio factor. You actually had to go back to 15th place today to find a single figure price.
The favourite was 22nd, the second fav 16th, third best 15th and the 4th best 17th.
Talk about a screamer for the bookies.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 14, 2016 at 18:11 #1251382Also Steve the time apparently was faster than Profitable
