As with all staying races over the last couple of years, the main question surrounds the weather.

If the forecast rain arrives, Trueshan wins.

If it doesn’t, then the race is thrown wide open. With no entries for Kyprios, Stradivarius or Quickthorn, the stage is wide open.

    I’m on Stratum e/w.

    With you G

Stratum an old favourite of mine, and off the back of his win at Ascot, reckon he’s a bit big at around 18’s. In and out performer, but I’m hoping he’s on a going day

Trueshan’s got his ground, I think this means the chances of defeat are remote, so each-way backers were/are chucking away half their stake for a place bet anyway IMO.

If the ground was borderline too quick for him, he’d be worth taking on each-way.

But on today’s ground he’d have plenty of backers to beat Kyprios and Stradivarius, so what chance have this lot got against him?

Not my price but, unless it’s a lot quicker on the round course, Trueshan should win this by the length of Printing Office Street.

I should have stopped typing after “Not my price!”

    Well done, winners!

It was a sprint up the straight pretty much. And it was him hanging that cost him today by the look of it, not sure why he was doing that.

I like Hollie Doyle, but they’ve not gone that quick, he’s a 2m4f Prix Du Cadran winner in the mud, and for me she’s dropped him out last and given him enough to do in a sprint finish.

But let’s be honest – he wins that by ten at his best and maybe Goodwood on ground too quick has left its mark?

Beaten fair and square on the day today though.
