Looking at the Prix de Foret, I was wondering whether DT, with his stunning turn of pace, might be better suited by shorter, rather than longer distances.
Or, was he just unable to cope with Goldikova and Paco Boy’s class?
I’d wouldn’t say he needs to be dropped back. After Moore wound him up he did show a brilliant turn of foot on ground that he obviously adores. However, had he been able to get up in the van earlier in the race he would have kicked sooner and Goldikova would have been harder pushed to pass him than Regal Parade. Not saying he would have won, but I’d say he might have been second.
I thought th draw beat Dick Turpin he ran a stormer considering. He’s a horse that likes to race quite prominantly but drawn nine they went quick initially and he had to be dropped in. Had he been drawn lower he’d have been much more prominant and I think he’d have won the race.
