December 1, 2007 at 21:38 #128294Must have some sort of chance becks
I think old chubby-chops is very lucky to have him and KS in his charge
December 1, 2007 at 21:46 #128299I’ll still be backing Kauto Star, and think Ruby will definitely choose KS to ride. Denman is now the enemy he he

Would you still bet KS if Ruby chooses Denman? Just interested, as I would have to go with what Ruby chooses!
December 1, 2007 at 22:05 #128314Kauto is still the one they’ve all got to beat. If I were Ruby I’d still be on him.
Denman – Well he certainly couldn’t be ruled out.
December 1, 2007 at 22:05 #128316Ruby who?
Sam is the man for the job,and he’ll be on the right horse
That would be the horse that PN thought had no chance of winning today
December 1, 2007 at 22:24 #128326plus if ks luck lasts forever????????? his jump mistakes wont always have the luck, when denman is gd jumper n aparently 2day proved he had everythink else needed.

Exactly- I would have my fiver on Denman rather than KS every time.
December 2, 2007 at 00:27 #128342Why would Ruby even contemplate gettting off a Super Horse to ride one that’s won, what turned out to be, no more than a bad handicapp?
December 2, 2007 at 00:32 #128344Enlighten me, FoF, as to what has happened since 2:50 this afternoon that has deemed that this renewal of the Hennessey "turned out to be a bad handicap".
December 2, 2007 at 00:37 #128347It’s the over reaction to horses which causes me to look elsewhere (and inevitably lose!). When KS was being touted as the best horse in the history of racing, then it put me off him (which is a pity as he is a very good horse) Now the same thing is happening with Denman.
When some guy on betfair is saying that he’s better than Arkle, then a part of me hopes he never wins again. A terrible thing to say, but there you go.December 2, 2007 at 12:52 #128413Though I have remained faithfull to Kauto Star 99% of the time, my head may have to over rule my heart and side with the big horse come March.

A terrible thing to say, but there you go.I’m the same mate regarding the hype surrounding some horses. I was the same with Kauto, initially, but his class and winning performances won me over.
The ‘Denmania’ over reaction is silly. What we saw yesterday was a tremendous weight carrying performance from Denman against a reasonable field but he’s not raced the big two yet (Kauto and ED) and until then he’s just another contender in my eyes. Kauto has been there and done it in regards to the Gold Cup so it’s down to ED and Denman to prove their class on the day. The top three in the betting all have claims for the GC but Kauto is still the one to beat.
December 2, 2007 at 13:29 #128420Coral have priced up Denman @ 6/4 for next March’s Gold Cup.
Kauto Star is next @ 2/1.
Another over-reaction?

Yes, very much so.
