If something happened to Kauto (god willing it won’t) then look at Exotic Dancer’s record he’s the obvious alternative. Denman is the new kid on the block.

The rest are either levels below or won’t stay (in the case of My Way De Solzen).

Think at 5/1 you would get plenty of interest about a horse that has a decent chance of winning and should not be out of the first 3 barring accidents, so 5/4 a place gives you a small profit betting ew.

My opinion is that denmans pace would suit kautos style. Kauto has shown he can front run exotic and still beat him. My fav is denman but the star will win and the horse thats forgotten but will def run a big race if even dissapointing in prep races will be war of attrition.

It will just be great to get, Kauto Star, Denman and Exotic Dancer all fit and well to the GC in March. A clear round from all 3 on decent ground will be something to savour

I had exactly half the amount I ended up having on Denman who I backed again on the day of the race so turned out not a bad day. I actually fancied BK a lot more than I did Denman at the start of the week but by the day of the race I was wishing I hadn’t bet either of them.

I wans’t sure about the quality of horses in the Henneesy because most of them I hadn’t seen any visual evidence of. But it looked a bad race from day one to me but I was doubting my own judgment as lots of guys fancied different horses on here and were making good sound cases for them.

What swung me back to Denman again was pure luck really. The guy in the sporting life fancied Charachter Builder….. I knew the strength of him so I thought if he is the best the sporting life could come up with this must be as bad a race as I first thought……….so I bet Denman again at the last minute……….I have now whacked it all on Kauto including my original stake…………. so in real terms I done my ass on Saturday now that I think about I’m still well ahead for the season though and that’s what counts.
