Just wanted to see Kim Roque entered here, and happy to see him get an entry. I’m sure he could go elsewhere over the next few weeks, but I have to start chipping away
Think Panic Atrack still has a good few pounds up her cuff, and she would be covered if she went, but I’d rather bet her for King George right now.
If neither of them came here I’d nerve take Imperial Saint, or the boring option with Jagwar, but this all about Kim Roque right now, a horse I’ve got high hopes for
Kim Roque 14’s
November 26, 2025 at 22:20 #1745664Il Ridoto was below form in the paddy power, but he’s my ante-post in this at 20-1
November 27, 2025 at 21:43 #1745732Jagwar undoubtedly the most likely winner but he’d be meeting race fit rivals now as opposed to a lot of horses also making their seasons debut like was intended in the paddy power gold cup.
However, scanning the rest of the field there’s a few very unlikely to come here (panic attack, colonel harry) and a few who I wouldn’t back with someone else’s money (hoe joly smoke il ridoto)
So Jagwar may actually be a value bet!
December 2, 2025 at 14:10 #1746470I agree with you TC, and though I haven’t bet him yet, he’ll be my bet once the full field is known
I know that it’s daft after the last effort, but I have had an early one on Kalif Du Berlais at 14-1
December 8, 2025 at 13:11 #1747035Was looking at Hoe Joly Smoke a few days ago and seem to think he was a decent price, but not now! Will have to have a re-think.
December 8, 2025 at 13:22 #1747037Vincenzo and Jagwar for me.
December 8, 2025 at 19:00 #1747052They could fit Il Ridoto with a full blindfold and he’ll still find his way around. If he turns up on Saturday I make it his 17th run at the track. A record?
December 8, 2025 at 21:17 #1747057Bradbury Star 17 starts, Fondmort 15 starts, Our Vic 15 starts. But these just a few from my era.
December 9, 2025 at 11:58 #1747072I like two of the outsiders here Es Perfecto and Ga Law both at 20-1. There’s the obvious chance that they’ll be bigger prices come the weekend, particularly Es Perfecto. I can deal with that then hopefully, but right now I’m happy with 20-1 Ga Law, given the trainer having a fair spell, and I’ll bet Es Perfecto after confirmations
December 9, 2025 at 14:10 #1747087Nice work, Ruby. Fond memories of those.
December 9, 2025 at 14:42 #1747088Very interesting to see Jamie Snowden giving 7lb claimer Isabelle Ryder a shot at the big time; she’s jocked up on GA Law, who usually keeps very good company and probably needed the race last time when third in the Charlie Hall. He lost his way last season after Christmas and they tried him in blinkers on his final outing where he ran his best race of the season. I wonder if they’ll declare blinkers here.
Isabelle has a 17% strike rate over fences these last 2 seasons, and 19% overall. She rides regularly for Snowden whose yard remains in good from. What a thrill for the kid anticipating this.
I like Colonel Harry too. Jagwar likely to go off shorter than his jumping prowess merits.
December 9, 2025 at 15:15 #1747089Coole Cody – 19 starts (17 of those within 3 seasons lol)
He was a favourite of my dads.
December 9, 2025 at 15:24 #1747090One from Nicholls heyday.
Poquelin – 17 starts
December 9, 2025 at 15:32 #1747091More blasts from the past … keep ’em coming!
December 9, 2025 at 16:12 #1747093Knowhere – 19 starts
Champion Court – 18 starts
The New One – 16 starts ( A lot for a graded hurdler)December 9, 2025 at 16:32 #1747096Vincenzo for me. He’s 2lb worse off with Holy Joe Smoke but has the benefit of a run this time.
December 9, 2025 at 17:02 #1747097Excellent work, GM. Completely forgot Champion Court.
