I must confess that i`ve never actually tried dutching before but it would seem that race selection is the key factor.
By sticking to 8 runner races your have a 50% chance of winning. All you need then is to get a short price fav turned over and bobs your uncle, easy isn`t it?
I`ll give it a whirl in the Nottm 2.40.
Smart Danny 13/2 £13.33
Flash Ram 7/1 £12.50
Kuringai 7/1 £12.50
Scottish Exile 9/1 £10
I`ve quoted the best odds currently available from Oddschecker on each selection and the figure to bet on each is to return £100.
Total outlay £48.33. Potential profit £51.67
March 31, 2004 at 16:29 #52719mmmm. Perhaps there’s a little more to it Andy?;)
April 1, 2004 at 07:39 #52720Lol @ Snowman, I was going to post exactly the same.
Off to Aintree today so i`ve decided to try and get First Gold beaten.
Tuitchev 5.2/1 £16.12.
Hand Inn Hand 5.8/1 £14.70
Valley Henry 5.8/1 £14.70
Fondmont 7/1 £12.50
Outlay £58.02 potential profit £41.92. Prices as per Betfair @ 8.38am.
If this one goes pear shaped i`ll swap it to a lay 4 thread!!
April 1, 2004 at 09:39 #52721Too early to pack in yet Andy! This isn’t the spirit that made Systems Workshop great.
Are you using any selection rules for your 4 against the fav?
April 1, 2004 at 10:00 #52722I know somebody that operates a similar system to this, but only backs the first four in the betting on races of 9,8 or 7.
I know that he applies filters with regards prices, but I am afraid does not give much info away on this.
Regards – Matron<br>
April 2, 2004 at 10:28 #52723A win for you Andy, well done.
Trouble is we’re still a little down on the 2 days, gonna need to hit slightly better than 1/2 I think, but who says you wont?
Keep going mate, interested to see how this pans out.
April 2, 2004 at 12:53 #52724Thanks for the support Snowman. I`m using Adrian Masseys ratings as a guide to which fav`s are the most likely to get beaten.
Today we go for the 4.40 at Southwell.
bet:
Czar Wars £21.73 @ 3.6/1
On the Trail £21.73 @ 3.6/1
Pawan £15.62 @ 5.4/1
Festive Affair £15.15 @ 5.6/1
Total outlay £74.23. Potential profit £25.77

April 2, 2004 at 16:32 #52725Well done mate another winner & fav nowhere.
April 2, 2004 at 21:10 #52726Cheers Snowman, we`re now showing a small profit of £19.36.
Off to Aintree early in the morning so doubt i`ll be able to post any selections.
The race to look at is Newcastle 4.05 but its currently got a 145% overround so the prices are obviously off the mark at present.
If i get time tomorrow i`ll put it up, if not, then we`ll keep our powder dry until Sunday.
April 4, 2004 at 11:06 #52727Sorry, i couldn`t post yestrday, just didin`t get the time.

To date + £64.02.
April 5, 2004 at 09:13 #52730I think today may be a little dodgy but we`ll have a go at the Windsor 2.10

April 5, 2004 at 18:27 #52732Andy
Most interesting!
How do you work out how much to stake for each set of odds? presumably there is a formula of some sort?
Ollie
April 5, 2004 at 18:32 #52733Thanks Padman, another winner to take our profit to date to £95.70.
Ollie, i`m using a dutching calculator that you`ll find on the link below. Just put the odds in and it does the rest.
April 6, 2004 at 10:58 #52734Only 1 eight runner race today.
I as inclined to skip it as the Loder hotpot could be something out of the ordinary, but anything can happen 1st time out so we`ll oppose it with;
Winged D`Argent £18.88 @ 4.5/1
Crociera £11.11 @ 8/1
At Your Request £5.88 @ 16/1
Hernando`s Boy £5.88 @ 16/1.
Total outlay £41.75 Potential profit £58.25.
