caught this chav on RUK this morning on a chelt preview, had to call hubby in to check i was’nt going mad on what he was saying about certain chelt prospects, does anyone know his history or credentials to sprout such rubbish
March 4, 2008 at 20:35 #148415Chav? Whats that all about? Does being a "chav" mean you cant have an opinion on a horserace?
Hope your hubby cleared that up for you.
March 4, 2008 at 20:40 #148417nope hubby said bloke was ignorant and just being slightly confrontational and was talking out his a**.
you must admit he does look the bizz chav wise.March 4, 2008 at 20:50 #148419Dave’s not ignorant, for "confrontational" substitue "having an opinion" (all successful professionals have one) and if you want to slag off his appearance try here http://site.forum.betfair.com.
March 4, 2008 at 20:58 #148425yes but rampante, what is dave’s history, what credentials has he ?
March 4, 2008 at 20:58 #148426Bit harsh there chloed
March 4, 2008 at 21:03 #148430I don’t know Dave Nevison personally, but I do know someone who does, he’s a good guy.
He had a book published recently, there is a review of it in the features section of this forum. People like books shouldn’t be judged by their covers although I’m sure you know that already.
March 4, 2008 at 21:10 #148432How, exactly is Nevison a chav and what was the rubbish that he was stating about Cheltenham prospects?
Perhaps you can provide us with your own views on the topic, as opposed to ‘hubby’, who seems to prefer hiding behind the skirt of his ‘wife’ !
March 4, 2008 at 21:12 #148434Saw the programme and thought Dave Nevison was very good. What was it that made you think he was talking rubbish Chloed?

Value Is EverythingMarch 4, 2008 at 21:15 #148437Nobody that wears jumpers as nice as Nevison could be described as a ‘chav’. Nevison is an industry pro that makes a large proportion of his income from gambling and also writes a column in Racing and Football Outlook and does the odd appearance on RUK. From reading his book he is essentially a ‘value’ punter who creates his own tissues and backs the horses that are available at larger prices than he thinks represents their chance.
March 4, 2008 at 21:16 #148438What you have got to realise is Dave Nevison is always looking for value. If he thinks something has a 20% chance he will tip it if it is greater than 4/1, if like Exotic Dancer, he thinks a 14/1 shot has a better than 7% chance he will tip that one too. Totally agree with his assessment of the Gold Cup.

Hi Cloed,
Won’t get into the great chav debate, but do know that Nevison is certainly no fool.
Watched him on RUK the other night, he picked one only, on the AW at Kempton and it breezed home.
Kind Regards,
Brian
March 4, 2008 at 21:24 #148443scally, my husband does not hide behind my skirts , he is just more informed than me having worked for the tote for 20 years as a racecourse manager and been responsible for laying off more bets than you have had dinners, cold or otherwise , so do not insult the significant partner please.
the reason i have for disliking nevison is his preferennce for exotic dancer to win the cup and diss-ing denman and kauto , exotic dancer has not a hope in hell of winning the cup, and indeed if he does i promise i will never post on this site againMarch 4, 2008 at 21:26 #148444i’m with you chloed.. think i’ve seen dave nevison driving his mums suped up fiat chiccichento with lowered suspension around lingfield asking bazzer dennis for 6-4 innit..
March 4, 2008 at 21:43 #148448Do I look like I’m bovered!

Hi Chloed,
I think Kauto will win. If not, Denman looks next best. But hang on, neither of those represents any value. What’s the next best? Exotic Dancer. What’s it’s price? Anything upto 16s…..
