In the past it has been a business habit of mine to evaluate performance at the end of each month and then in greater depth at the end of each quarter hoping the year end figures progressed beyond the previous one. Old habits die hard.
With my systematic approach to horse racing I am much saddened to say it has been rare to find any reaching the quarter stage before the axe has fallen, the year end – never!
The BIG 3 idea is proving to be an exception to the rule. I cannot offer a definitive way to stake and confess to tweaking along the way, although I can recommend the module as a basis of a selection process to use within an style that is comfortable for any user.
My records are the results of BOG prices taken and not starting prices, the stakes have varied along the way and modifications have been made but in a nut shell I examine the Spot Horse (D. Mirror) and progress to the tipsters selection box to ensure if either of the two (Newsboy or Bouverie) endorse it. No tweaking to this stage. I avoid maiden races if I can, I like all horse, if possible, within the race to have a rating and swerve amateur and conditional races. I like the recent form to show as 1,2,3 or 4 LTO and swerve the unfashionable stable and riders. From the remaining choices the selection will be the one showing the best forecast price and or the best live market price. One or two have been rank outsiders and become “do I or don’t I” bets and must end up as personal choice.
My best figures resulted from September 5th to the end of the month: –

November +18ptsFor myself these are terrific figures and am hoping the tweaks will prove worthwhile and continue to progress and for those that know me will also know it will never buy me a sea cruise, for my stakes are too small the satisfaction comes from the results and not the amount.
The Pro-Bet is in the black, only just but would be better if I had the confidence to follow all the selections with all the suggested stakes and so I will continue and hope to improve.
