I agree it is not Tank alone and hope both he and others can find their way to do the right thing and apologise. :rose:

Russell T Davis is a name I associate with Dr Who to be honest, but saw an interview with him and it looked intriguing so thought give it a try. Hooked me from the word go. My character is likeable to Colin. :good:

Dallas Buyers Club is a great film about the early treatments for HIV/AIDS for those interested in It’s A Sin.

The music they wanted to use worked out very expensive. They wanted to use Running up that Hill and didn’t think they’d be able to as Kate Bush doesn’t usually agree to her music being used. But she was more than happy for it to be included.Good for her. So many parallels with AIDS and covid. What is awful at the moment is that although people with eg diabetes, asthma aren’t massively at risk as long as they aren’t non compliant people that have AIDS are doing very badly in Africa [or so I’ve heard].I think Colin will probably go down as one of the most beloved characters in television history.

The only one that needs to apologize on here is Rummy for writing this ‘he knew your friend was hospitalized due to covid, yet still made crass remarks’ That makes it sound like I’d been told Moe’s friend was in hospital and I made crass remarks about it- Totally untrue of course as Moe never mentioned her friend until after she had died. I don’t think Rummy lad was trying to twist things, he’s just not very good at articulating himself.

Ginge was on the right track till he saw how things were going and changed sides. Bad form, Ginge, bad form! I Will write more later as this is interrupting my racing :bye:

No Tank, I am not on any person’s “side” – only the side of what I see as right… And I have no wish to be popular – if anything the opposite. If you struggle with showing empathy then I wanted that taken in to account.

However what you’ve said is no excuse. You know how many people have gone in to hospital with covid and you know how many of them go on to die. Therefore you must know the odds are someone on here will have at least a close friend or relation in those positions.

…And anyway: Even had there been nobody on TRF with a friend or relation with bad covid; it’s no excuse / reason to be disrespectful to non-members.

This passage you wrote suggests otherwise, Tank

She seems to have mutated into a thug as well! I was shocked to read that she would want to do serious damage to any anti-vaxxer that she might bump into- this is our sweet, old Moe! The reason for this seems to be that one of her friends caught Covid in Hospital and died – as they do- she was only a young 96 year old though, so must have been a shock to absolutely nobody.

However I would agree with one thing I’d like to get back to normal, I don’t wear a mask outdoors as social distancing is better.

P.S. It’ll be the young paying for furlough for years, so thank you for that!

I know exactly what I wrote, you just haven’t picked up on the fact that your explanation of it looked misleading.

I don’t want to fall out with anyone on here, but if they want to fall out with me-fair enough, their decision.

I’m on forums such as this for a bit of FUN and to chill out, not to go around trying to explain myself to people.

Chill out peeps- life is short and not worth wasting time like I’m doing now

No more on this nonsense from me B-)

So it’s ok that my friend died and wasn’t just suffering from the virus? Because she was old anyway. From memory [as I couldn’t post on TRF at the time] I didn’t mention my friends death on here . But, having been in tears after having a phone call telling me of my friends death, I then read your comments in which you mentioned something I’d said on another forum which resulted in me not being able to sleep that night.Yes, I was angry because she’d been so close to having the vaccine and people that don’t have the vaccine to both protect themselves and, just as importantly, to protect others infuriate me.Mike and I have been shielding for a year now. We haven’t seen the children or grandchildren even when the rules allowed because we’ve done everything in our power to reduce the infection rate. Our only way out of this is the vaccine along with other measures; mask wearing, social distancing when necessary. But what really upset me was that I regarded you as a friend and, along with many of the people on the forums I go onto, I was genuinely fond of you. And, when one is shielding little things can blow up, emotionally, into big things.I wasn’t even going to mention it but your constant stream of anti mask/anti vaccine comments upset me. And perhaps you should be grateful to your surgery for trying to contact you about the vaccine. I missed my first appointment because I missed the phone call but, thankfully my surgery kept phoning. It’s what the NHS do. They look after people. And that’s what we should all be doing at the moment. Not making fun of someone’s death. Anyway, I really thought that, if I said how upset I had been you would have felt some sort of remorse but you just decided to justify your comments. So, Dorothy’s death seems to have resulted in me losing another friend. And I’m sad about that.

Lovely post Moe and straight from the heart. You have our 100% support and sympathy for everything that has happened over the past year and losing much loved friends and being unable to see our children and grandchidren is a huge price to pay but when it all comes right again you know your actions would have helped to save lives.

Looks like Sorry seems to be the hardest word and Moe you just don’t need a friend like that, if he can’t apologise then it’s his loss. :rose: Jac

Just as you, Tank; am sure most people are…

“on forums such as this for a bit of FUN and to chill out”.

…Doesn’t it bother you that things you say can have the opposite affect, stopping TRFers from having fun and chilling out. Both this and your other covid opinions means you’re coming over as an extremely selfish person – whether you are or not. Only person that seems to matter is you. Doesn’t appear to matter that other people will end up in hospital and/or die – as long as you’re alright Jack. ie Believing you’re not in a high risk group* so not getting a jab – despite not doing so is putting others at greater risk. Even putting the phone down on someone inviting you to a jab. Doesn’t matter if people are upset – as long as you’re alright.

*By the way, you have said before about being overweight, so your personal risk is greater than you realise. Indeed, as a sceptic (on how bad this virus is) you’re at higher risk too – as sceptics are less careful in their everyday lives.

    Take care.

You could’ve just said something like this, Tank:

“These are just my opinions written in a casual fun way, please don’t take them to heart, Moe. Am not good at empathy and may be I could or should have put things a little differently in important subjects such as this. Apologies”. :rose:

Unless you’ve met them in the flesh it’s best to remain ambivalent about anyone you converse with in cyberspace: you may be able to conclude who you like or dislike, agree or disagree with, from the words of the ‘net’s anonymous denizens but determining friend and foe, love and hate requires tangible authentic interaction, not this nebulous, virtual, superficial interaction that’s sweeping the world

Virtual communication between strangers ain’t particularly healthy: it’s just entertaining, occasionally worthwhile, but never to be taken too seriously

    No more no less

    Nice post Moe
