Great stuff. I’m off to bed to do a little reading before tiredness overcomes me
I can recommend the book which is a biography of Jordan… not that one! It’s the punk icon who worked in McLaren’s shop, 430 King’s Road
Defying Gravity
February 8, 2021 at 10:03 #1522164I read a book once – it was green.
From which Classic situation comedy am I paraphrasing?

February 8, 2021 at 11:17 #1522173Anyone on here had the jab yet?
I’m not far behind them, mind.
The 70-75 cohort are now being jabbed here in York so you shouldn’t have long to wait. Will you answer the call Tank?
Being a mere youth of 64 I expect it’ll be April sometime for me
I’m in no hurry and would prefer it if all those over 70 had their second shot, along with the infirm, public-facing workers etc before we vibrant, healthy youngsters have the first one

I think it was Hislop not Warren.
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysFebruary 8, 2021 at 12:02 #1522176Warren said he could not read. That is why he nicked the geography paper rather than the history one, in the episode when Godber was trying to get another O level.

Great stuffYeah, could well have been ‘Einstein’ Hislop. Good actor the late Brian Glover; his first major role as the competitive PE teacher in that wonderful film Kes was a masterpiece
February 8, 2021 at 13:20 #1522188He was the voice of “Tetley make tea bags make tea” as well.

Drone, I’m expecting a call end of March for my age group – mid to late 60s – but as I’ve said, I think it’s prudent to wait to see how it performs. I’ve also read the following today ‘The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine offers as little as 10% protection against the Covid variant first seen in South Africa, researchers have suggested.
Scientists who conducted a small-scale trial of the vaccine’s efficacy said it showed very little protection against mild to moderate infection, though they expressed hope that – in theory – it would still offer significant protection against more serious infection.
I think scientists are working on updating the vaccines and also think I’ve made the right call in waiting – so I won’t be taking up the offer of a jab for some time yet. Maybe next year, if I’m spared that long.

It also depends on when/if the vaccine passport kicks in. May not even be able to go for a drink without that
February 8, 2021 at 15:00 #1522206Impressive work, chaps – Hislop in the very first episode as I recall.
But Bunny Warren, bless him, wasn’t a bad shout.
