Had to read your post four times before I realised what you meant. Yes I use the edit button quite a bit but it’s mainly used to express exactly the same thing I’ve already written in a way that’s imo easier to understand… And sometimes just to change spelling. Sorry, not every TRFer is a drone.

Why do you have to see every edit anyway? Is there no way of turning that off?

Drone is sometimes unsuccessful with his spelling.

He’s not been back since. I do hope he’s not committed hara-kiri :-(

No, don’t have to see every edit
Ginger from my point of view having a debate with you is not always easy because you know your stuff
I read your post and make my post from what you have written in your post
then I look back on your post and you have edited it
my post now looks silly as it would have been different to your “new” edited post
I understand spelling but to change view even if only slightly is poor in my opinion only
    just make a new post
Its only a preference no big deal… :good:

Find it incredibles that you believe – from what they apparently knew from day 1 – the government should have closed down our borders from day one. “No planes / boats from day 1” and “isolated early or tell them not to come back and shut the country down proper from day 1”When you yourself went to the Cheltenham Festival.

So knowing what you obviously knew at the time, Nathan; why did you deliberately put the country at risk? Or is it a case of hindsight with a capital H?

Lol because I’m not an expert although did use common sense even although Boris said it was fine to shake strangers hands. I ditched train tickets and drove. Social distanced for the majority of time as daft as that sounds being Cheltenham even though social distancing rules hadn’t been put in place back then by myself and brother finding a quiet spot was well aware as someone high risk and did not find it a pleasant experience being very paranoid.
Also phoned my boss up and told him I will not be working off my own back just after Cheltenham as it took the country’s brains far too long in telling vulnerable people to shield. Think it was about two weeks

Another error by Boris and co which is never talked about is opening back up after the 1st lockdown with death rates still on going. Even the R rate was still hovering around 1.
He/they should have let it go down to zero
New Zealand have absolutely pulled down Great Britain’s pants

Did you say that at the time, Nathan?
When do you mean about opening back up?
Were you against people being able to exercise more than once a day on May 10?
It wasn’t until June 15th that high streets and shopping centres opened up. Take a look at the graph of Covid deaths in 2020, Nathan. For the week including June 15th the 7 day average death rate was just 104 and had been coming down at a fast rate… And after “opening back up” that average came down and down and down to single figures by early September. So “opening back up” of the first lockdown did not have the effect you claim. Indeed had they not opened up far more businesses would’ve gone bust and far more unemployment… And had the government not done so there’d have been public unrest! Like there was / is in Europe.

opening back up is end of lockdown
Just my view but as you say rates of death / infection rates were low so why not drive it down to zero
doesn’t take long for a few infected to multiply like we saw on day 1 so drive it down to zero as well as having willy wonka mode of no-one coming in and out the country
I understand businesses and jobs but if driven down to zero and borders shut down we’d have more chance perhaps of not having that month of November and where we are now so unemployment etc may have been better off?
Like I say I’m no expert and it certainly is not black and white and everyone situations is different
    just giving my view

Yes I did say at time
why open up when rates are still high (high in my opinion)
    said it to my son
    who wasn’t listening as normal

Number of Covid deaths had been coming down for some time – since mid-April.
High street and shopping centres openrd up only in mid-June.
After High street and shopping centres were opened up Covid deaths continued to fall until mid-September. That’s 3 months after High Street and Shopping Centres were opened.
Therefore the “opening back up” after the first lockdown can not be put down to the September surge.
ie Evidence shows that keeping the first lockdown going throughout the summer would have had miniscule or no affect. A waste of time. Would not have come down to zero.

    No, Nathan.
Whether it was Boris or someone else’s decision – taking patients directly from hospital to nursing homes without a covid test was obviously a big mistake.
There were other decisions that were – with the benefit of hindsight turned out to be – “mistakes”; but imo he / the government’s decisions were all done with the best of intentions. Overall I think they’ve done a pretty good job in the circumstances.

Ginger, your excuses for the govt are astonishing; if terrorists had killed thousands of your people they’d also have had the ‘best of intentions’ for their agenda.
