Interesting to see Timeform rate him the best bumper horse of all time ever.

Since 1993, which is when Timeform were the first commercial outfit to introduce bumper ratings, as a matter of fact.
Bumpers were revived in 1978/9 (no idea if they were of any consequence before then) and the Champion Bumper was first run in 1992.

…or goes for the Ballymore or even the Champion Hurdle itself?

April 25, 2008 at 11:47 #159803I suspect nobody is going to be silly enough to put a massive amount on even if they were able to directly influence his campaign. If I remember correctly Cork All Star was a shorter price for most of the winter and he didn’t have a NH pedigree and was unlikely to cope with soft ground. Cousin Vinny has a lot more pluses than he had.

Let’s hope his hurdling career is a bit more successful than Quadco, the horse he takes that mantle from. Timeform rated that horse 129 in bumpers and he failed to run to higher than that level over hurdles!
