"MR4TUNE" is banned member and is no longer welcome on "TRF".

"CD is race over the same distance & course combined

C & D are seperate races. Has won at the course but the distance has been won elsewhere."

You may have the above the wrong way around.

    Hi Arkle

CD is race over the same distance & course combined

C & D are seperate races. Has won at the course but the distance has been won elsewhere.

That is my interpretation and I do wonder if C & D will make any difference.

On the races I have been checking I am only covering CD’s as per today’s 3.30 Hereford where LIGHT ENTERTAINER was second : –

    at a massive

    100/1

    BILLION
In the 3.30 Hereford yesterday i had Le Forezien as the CD horse has it won the race last year ,i did not see a CD next to Light Entertainer but if there was even though i did not see it this would have ment no bet i think, unless i have missed something again.MAY I ASK WHICH PAPPERS TELL US IF A HORSE IS CD OR A C&D WINNER.

    Thank you
    Paul

I was just thinking the same thing about the 3:30 at Hereford, he’s picked the wrong horse.

Came back for an edit

Following the rules as laid out in the first post:-

This is for course and distance winners only :
1 . The selection must be a course and distance winner
    2. The selection must have been UNPLACED in its last race
    3. If there is more than one in a race that qualifys then make no selection

Though I’m not sure what rule 3 means:
    A) If there is more than one selection in the race or
    B) If there is more than one Course and Distance winners in the race.

there were six selections yesterday and not one was placed.

    17:10 Pont Harriets Girl
    15:30 Here Le Forezien
    16:20 Hexh Dads Army
    14:34 Down Ross Accord
    14:55 Gowr Kings Road
    16:25 Gowr The Last Stand

    g’day guy’s,

To answer your question first Arkle, I use the Sporting Life racecards [on line].

I normally read Sun for the sport and just maybe Page 3 to rekindle old memories of when I was young.

    I digress.

I do think an error has been made on my behalf and without recourse to the race card I am unable to explain. I had entered Le Forezien into the machine but on checking . . . . . . well who knows and admit to the errror, Was the Light Entertainer either above or below on the card as I may have ticked or underlined it by mistake.

A huge chunk of humble pie has been eaten, you can be assured of that.

You can get previous cards on the SL website.

    1) Click Racecards
    2) Choose tomorrow’s cards
    3) In the address bar knock two days of the date and viola yesterday’s cards.

    Le Forzien was No. 5
    Light Entertainer was No. 6

and they both began with ‘L’

    ‘gooday Dolus,

I have edited the offending post.

Have been to SL site and am not sure where/what is Address bar, it is a swine being old but sadly can’t do much about it.

Regarding the rules, my reading is such: –

A qualifying selection must be the only horse in the race with CD in the form line [not C & D] and been unplaced LTO. There maybe other CD’s but if 1.2.3 poss 4 LTO they are simply deleted leaving a qualifier with anything but 1.2.3.[4].

    Clear as mud eh!

Is there not anyone able to contact MR4TUNE?

The address bar is the bit at the top of all websites where the web site address is typed in so for the sporting Life ‘Tomorrow cards’ page it is

    http://horses.sportinglife.com/Meetings … E1,00.html

You can see the date there 22-06-2009. Alter the 22 to 20 and press ENTER/RETURN and it will take you to yesterday’s cards.

I think the rules are open to interpretation.

It just says Course and Distance winners, does not specify CD or C&D.

As for other CD winners in the race or selections in the race I have been looking at it the same way as you. On reflection though it seems a bit daft backing a horse that is a CD winner if here are others that have been in the frame last time out.

Maybe a better idea is to back any sole Course and Distance winner in a race providing it was not placed last time out.

    or

Back any sole Course and Distance winner in a race regardless of where it finished providing it can be backed at X/1 or bigger.

Bet I’m older than you are

    Dolus,

"It just says Course and Distance winners, does not specify CD or C&D."

"CD" at the "Sporting Life" website – means "Course & Distance".

If the horse had been to the course but, had raced the distance elsewhere it would show:- "C" "D"

"C&D" tends be shown more in newspapers.

I know so maybe I should write it as CD and CD or C-D.

The system states it must be a "Course & Distance" winner in the very first post.

I always tend to use "C&D".

Until there is a definitive answer from MR4TUNE we are floundering. I prefer CD as per distance achieved at the course of the race being scrutinised.

For me this reduced the high number of races each day but I do risk missing winners.

Today with only 3 selections there was a 20/1 3rd which overall incurred a loss.

Is there anyone who has access to his email address which was provided when registering? If so can he not be contacted ! ! !

No need to divulge it MATRON, just do it.

    ======================================================

4 LTO, is this place or not?

8.40 Newton Abbot tomorrow says not. TOP TREES 4LTO but the race in question had 11 runners and therefore not a place.

Had it had 16 runners then it would have been I guess.

    What a shame.

That said it does offer some understanding of how rules can replace common sense, which in turn gives rise to further understanding of just how such dogma can easily result in wars being started, when only pride and ego need to be put to one side in favour of an easy resolve thus avoiding an entrenchment from which there is no solution.
