Lah Ti Dar is a great bet here. I grabbed the 9/2 last week with one of the two O’Brien horses always likely to skip the race.
He’s sending Kew Gardens who was disappointing at Chester on his seasonal return rather than Magical. Salouen goes again and Defoe and Morando are likely to join them.
For me, the filly Lah Ti Dar will win. She’s confirmed as going for the race by Gosden, she was gutsy last time, has the class to win this and will be suited to the step up in trip to 1m 4f. I think that 9/2 was a great bet and her current price is more than generous at 5.0 on the exchange.
Lah Ti Dar @ 9/2
May 22, 2019 at 14:24 #1440068Very dissapointed hes not running magical
Agree on lah ti dar think this is her ideal trip whereas kew gardens may be better over further
May 22, 2019 at 15:38 #1440076Agreed,
Beat LTD in the St Leger, but was much better suited to that test of stamina than the filly. Opposite is the case here. KG may need further or at least an extreme test at the trip (and although soft would increase the emphasis on stamina KG is thought best on a sound surface). Not in his best form last time out. That could be due to fitness and/or going, but that’s nowhere near certain… And impotantly, even at his best doesn’t look much better than the field – if at all.I’ve laid Kew Gardens @ 2.2/1.
…Backed a couple of outsiders, Defoe 16/1 and Communique 17/1.
If able to get the 4/1 Lah Ti Dah I’d take that too.Value Is EverythingMay 26, 2019 at 02:27 #1441629Interesting to see Old Persian supplemented for this.
May 26, 2019 at 02:37 #1441631.. but he’s a remainder from Meydan, when all seemed to be easy
May 29, 2019 at 17:19 #1443519CORONET at 16/1 is a huge price with Olivier up!!
May 29, 2019 at 18:05 #1443525Coronet looks increasingly a crown of thorns, Raymo. Although it’s true I wouldn’t be surprised to see her placed, doesn’t seem to want to put her head in front. I backed her last time and – to me – she produced a very disappointing effort when (on form) the one to beat.
Value Is EverythingMay 30, 2019 at 10:10 #1443568Coronet now a non runner, not fed up
May 30, 2019 at 19:26 #1443616Lah ti dar for me still
Of the bigger priced ones marmelo could easily run into the frame and looks a big price at 20/1
May 30, 2019 at 21:38 #1443634Can’t understand the betting here.
Kew Gardens wouldn’t be the horse I’d make favourite or second favourite.Value Is EverythingMay 30, 2019 at 22:48 #1443642I’ve had Old Persian as a saver but Lah Ti Dar is one of my biggest bets of 2019 so far.
No idea why Kew Gardens is favourite over 1m 4f. Think that trip suits LTD and Old Persian more than the O’Brien horse.
Strange market. Very much agree with you Ginge.
May 30, 2019 at 22:53 #1443646Old Persian certainly looks the main danger to lah ti dar
He showed an electric turn of foot in his two wins in meydan this year
Wasnt running against anything close to the quality of lah ti dar though
On quick ground over 1m4f just cant see kew gardens being quick enough and he had a hard race at Chester on very soft ground
May 31, 2019 at 06:35 #1443703Couple small bets on outsiders.
Communique at 28s
Marmelo at 20s.Good luck everybody!
May 31, 2019 at 15:23 #1443751Genius ride from Atzeni
May 31, 2019 at 15:48 #1443756Absolute shocker from lah ti dar
Dettori Never looked happy at any point
