Well done winners. I had a long look at the Stage Star form, but went for the other two horses EW.
The first two home looked very decent in front and none of them was really stopping when going beyond 3 miles. Both trainers will have very tough decisions to make as I don’t rate them as true Gold Cup contenders, but both still very well suited by a stamina test.December 2, 2023 at 18:25 #1672530I’ve only just remembered that I met It’s Gino’s breeders when I had a retirement present trip to Newmarket 12 or so years ago! We met them in the pub: I think they’d been to see Frankel. I should have had a sentimental bet on him. It was a bit noisy in the pub: I think there was some football on and Germany were playing and I struggled to hear or understand what they were saying, but she wrote the horses name down on a piece of paper.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 2, 2023 at 19:04 #1672534“This typically goes to a 6-8 year old carrying 11 stone 6 or less. Hard to gauge at this stage a strong fancy.”
True words, Mike, but I didn’t back him.
December 2, 2023 at 20:03 #1672539Thanks everyone, only just caught the race as I’d been doing the Christmas bits and pieces with the family most of the day. Never felt confident in Gino funnily enough going round, Sizing Tennessee was my last winner in this and most of the ones I recall were up with the pace most of the way round so to see him stone last I was happier with Mahler Mission but he really stayed on well, both ran belters. I would agree with what you said Ex RubyLight, if anything they might be National contenders rather than Gold Cup.
December 2, 2023 at 20:04 #1672540Well done TTM87.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 2, 2023 at 20:06 #1672541WD Tin man!
For a long way I though Mahler Mission had it under control, but Gino ran through the field. I backed him at Aintree last time and after that disappointing run I deserted him unfortunately.
