    You’re welcome.

To get the thread back on topic, I’ve also taken 8/1 Ace Impact for this as the trainer won in last year with Vadeni (below par so far this year) and a trip to Esher must surely be a possibility.

Took 50/1 Ace Impact as 888 left it up for a few mins after the French Derby today, win only.

Not certain to run, but as Ian has said the trainer won this race last year and with those odds it was a must bet regardless.

And there was you recently saying you couldn’t get excited about this Flat season, Ben.

Giving it a bit of time and keeping an open mind is all it takes.

End of last season Commissioning was Gosden’s Classic filly – few were talking about Soul Sister.

Had we even heard of this colt at that stage?

50/1 is a great price about a horse whose trainer won the race only last year.

Cheers Ian! Indeed it’s fascinating how quickly the landscape changes in flat racing, we’ve seen three good classic winners over the past couple of days and the Guineas winners look decent too, plenty for us to look forward too and ample 3yo contenders to challenge the older horses in the big group 1’s as the season unfolds.

It’s actually looking like it could be a cracking flat season

We’ve seen loads of impressive performances already from 3yos and older horses

Going to be some stacked races at Royal ascot and after

    I agree.

No Frankel or Baaeed, but plenty of what I’d call solid OR 120+ Group 1 performers and races like this one will be hard to win.

That said, some performance by the French colt today and he’d be my idea of the most likely winner if he came over to Sandown Park next month.

From a betting point if view its really more interesting when there’s not a frankel or baaeed knocking about who is miles better than everything else.

Prefer Emily Upjohn to Ace Impact in this i think. Turbo acceleration at Epsom and that was on seasonal debut. Ace Impact been busy already and should save himself for bit later in the season imo. Trainer may feel the same as he’s being aimed for the Arc, we’ll see.

I wouldn’t back Emily Upjohn for anything, really don’t rate her.

“From a betting point if view its really more interesting when there’s not a frankel or baaeed knocking about who is miles better than everything else.”

    100% agree with this.

Mike, Emily Upjohn was impressive on Epsom Downs and I was there when she bolted in over the Eclipse course and distance last April.

I’ve no idea if Ace Impact will run, but his trainer won today’s race with Vadeni last year, then went and won the Eclipse with him before putting him away for an autumn campaign that included the Arc.

With Vadeni below par this year so far, he could easily do the same with Ace Impact.

You say he’s been busy, but he was only having the fourth race of his life today and I reckon there’s more to come.

The time today bears the closest inspection on all levels – I am very excited about this colt.

Timeform, like me, liked the Emily Upjohn performance, and they put her top of the division. We will see who turns up. Won’t be many I wouldn’t have thought as most of these going to Ascot and it’s a shorter time space between the two meetings this year.

131 Emily Upjohn (sex allowance factored in)
    130 Luxembourg
    129 Bay Bridge
    129 Hukum
    128 Adayar
    128 My Prospero
    127 Desert Crown
    125 Auguste Rodin
    125 Ace Impact

Timeform marketing meeting: “So many ratings services nowadays, some ****s are even doing their own. We need to get some publicity to get the name Timeform back in the limelight, something really outrageous and controversial.” New intern: “How about we rate My Prospero 3lb higher than both The Derby and Prix Du Jockey Club winners?” Entire room collapses laughing. Head of marketing: “Stop it, I can’t feckin breathe! Too funny. It was only fourth in the Lockinge. Let’s do it!”

They put a ‘p’ after Auguste Rodin and Ace Impact and Desert Crown I think as well.

Please don’t take me literally, Mike, it’s just banter – thanks for passing on the numbers which make a good talking point.

Seldom have I had so much trouble remembering a horse’s name – Ace Impact, Ace Impact, Ace Impact, ACE IMPACT!

Anyway, it gone blue for this on Oddschecker and there ain’t no 8/1 no more.
