If the hill had ran in the Kingwell today he’d have another ” Fell there” to his growing list …

With 32 entries for the Southwell race and only a maximum field size of 14, we could potentially see him being balloted out of the race…..how ironic would that be!

Apparently In the ballot, BHA rules give first priority to “horses that have run in or completed no more than two Flat races and have been placed in the first four at least once in those races,” a group which comprises eight of the 32 entries.

Second preference goes to “horses that have not run in a Flat race,” meaning Constitution Hill is among 15 such qualifiers whose order of elimination will be decided on Sunday morning by random ballot.

What are the odds on Constitution Hill being successful in that “random” ballot?

I’m sure it will work out for him.
First of all, how many of the top eight horses will run? It’s quite improbable to have all eight of them declared. More likely 5-6. Then how many from his (2nd) group will be declared and will he be the first one to be balloted out of that group? Also very doubtful. I think he has quite a decent chance of getting a run anyway without the help from outside.

Henderson “its not ideal, we’ve not quite been drawn in the car park, but we are close enough to it.” “We are sandwich between Daddy Long Legs and Tripoli Flyer, that’s a problem but what can we do?” “We can take him out, you just know the noise around that” “I’m waiting on Wolverhampton putting on a race for him” “Why couldn’t we get allocated a middle to low stall number for a start”? “They’ve known for ages this race was set up for him and now this” “Yogi and Oisin have worked wonders with him, I’ve fed them both and we’ve had many a sherry” “I’ll have to discuss it Michael Buckley, he won’t be happy, but what can we do at this stage”?

Daddy Long Legs 4-1 for me.

Square Necker, the horse which won (easily) the Dundalk maiden DLL was withdrawn from is 2nd fav, but has changed stables and might need some settling in time.

The race has only been priced up by Sky Bet and Paddy Power/Betfair. Both offer 4/6.

They should have a draw ceremony and bring Mr Blobby out of retirement to do it.

He’s effectively number 16 on the list, so only needs two to drop out. And one of those above him is Secret Squirrel who ran yesterday.

But the Balding entry, Jupiter Ammon is number 26, so that’s one danger that might not get a run.
