I wish him every success in whatever role he does next . . . . hopefully a role where he will not be subjected to unwarranted personal abuse.
Seconded in every particular,
Paul
.
The question remains: did he jump, or was he pushed?
November 18, 2011 at 19:56 #378412The latter
November 18, 2011 at 19:59 #378413Yes, would definitely wish Paul Struthers well and thank him for his input to the forum in his time with the BHA. Always came across as a very able communicator with a good feel for horseracing as both a sport and an industry. He related well to us ordinary fans of the game imo.
Best of luck in future endeavors.

I see that
Chris Cook
in
The Guardian
is suggesting that
Paul Struthers
‘s next post might be to take over from Kevin Darley at the PJA!!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/no … CMP=twt_gu
He certainly wants to carry on working in Racing:
"I feel that it is time for me to move on to the next step in my career, which I hope will continue to be within the sport"
If the PJA rumour’s true, Mr Struthers evidently does not mind arguing again BHA directives in which he himself had a part. In which case, may I publicly offer Mr Struthers the post of
Communications Head
for
Pinza’s Campaign Against the Whip Rule
?
No salary, alas, but plenty of robust experience for the old CV.
November 18, 2011 at 21:29 #378428Someone had to pay the price for when the new whip rules were implemented.
Let’s not forget, new leader Mr Bittar said they wanted to do communications better last night, clearly trying to put a positive spin on news he must have known of.
November 18, 2011 at 21:41 #378431If it is true that there was
‘A whispering campaign against him from within the BHA [which] appears to have begun while he was on two weeks’ paternity leave’
The BHA and everyone connected to them are a total disgrace.
November 18, 2011 at 21:47 #378434Pompete have you only realised that now?

who might these whisperers be.

The only person from the BHA to give punters any sort of voice in racing – apparently stabbed in the back by the hired hitman.
Good luck Paul – you’re probably well out of it.November 18, 2011 at 23:20 #378464

Paul Struthers
has tweeted thanks for the good wishes…
Greg Wood
has tweeted:
"…Astonishing. BHA must have decided to work in order of competence, to ensure Roy will be last 1 out"
November 19, 2011 at 10:07 #378515Came across as a decent, honourable man whose position ‘twixt the BHA hard place and the TRF rock was handled with polite, dignified aplomb
A thankless and wearying job that justified a healthy remuneration
Wish him well now he’s well out of it, and would like to think he’d be prepared to contribute to TRF with the gusto typical of the manumitted, rather than as the necessarily stifled mouthpiece of a lame, aimless organization
Spill those beans boyo
Hope you and your nascent family are well Paul
November 19, 2011 at 10:15 #20283Paul Struthers has announced he is to leave the BHA and give up his role as Communications Director.
I’d like to publicly thank Paul for being a friend to TRF over the years. Paul has helped us in a variety of ways and has always been of assistance on any occasion we’ve asked him for input.
It goes without saying that Paul’s role was difficult and time-pressured and I am sure many in that position would have simply turned a blind eye to our ramblings and rumblings here on TRF. Not only did Paul engage directly (in his guise as TRF member Silvoir and via a very open Q&A session) but he engaged with us behind the scenes with us on several occasions, giving up time to hold discussion with myself and others from the TRF team on some projects we (TRF) were considering at various times.
I’d like to thank you Paul for that, wish you all the very best for your future, congratulate you on the recent addition to your family and, finally, say that I very much hope we’ll continue to see the occasional contribution from Silvoir on TRF.

thread.
November 19, 2011 at 10:40 #378524I would like to agree with Greg Wood , the question has to be asked , when can we expect the departure of Mr Roy
I have been asking for 3 people to resign , 1 has gone , and I wish him the very best of good luck
what about the other 2 though , hopefully we will see big changes in the new year
Ricky
November 19, 2011 at 10:41 #378525Yep, now there is another one here Pinza.
November 19, 2011 at 10:43 #378527‘Manumitted’ ??
Does that mean he’ll be giving someone the hairdryer treatment?
November 19, 2011 at 11:19 #378541Don’t know what has happened to this post, but wish PS all the best for the future.
And, **** TRF, as free speech is not now allowed.
