How many more chapters can be written in the Binocular book of excuses?
December 26, 2009 at 14:44 #265575What’s the excuse for Binocular this time…
Still rusty! First impressions were "Timmy Timmy Timmy" Go Native would have let you pass him,had you chucked the coals on a bit earlier"!
December 26, 2009 at 14:45 #265578Binocular is a joke..
December 26, 2009 at 15:23 #265590The CH is confusing me a great deal now but the more I look at it the more i am edging towards Zaynar. Binocular wont win it that I am sure of
December 26, 2009 at 15:54 #265608Very cloudy Champion Hurdle picture now…or is it?
I’m not a fan of Go Native but if this was Binocular who had won the two races he’d be short as hell to win the Champion Hurdle.
Are we all just ignoring the obvious? It’ll be a great race thats for sure

Voler La Vedette?

What odds Binocular wins the Cross-Country for Enda in 2014?

How i’d love for Murphy to send Voler La Vedette to Cheltenham for the Champion Hurdle!

She was fantastic when beating GN
December 26, 2009 at 16:30 #265626Id love to know whats goin through Dunguibs connections minds!!
He has to run in the Champion this time IMHO…….I was a big Binocular fan (last season and this tbh) but these last two runs have made my mind up about him……..as a betting proposition………Its Dunguibs for the taking i reckon.
December 26, 2009 at 16:33 #265630Now look, I love Timmy Murphy……….but I reckon even he’d concede that wasn’t his greatest ride.
December 26, 2009 at 16:37 #265632Now look, I love Timmy Murphy……….but I reckon even he’d concede that wasn’t his greatest ride.
Any particular reason?
December 26, 2009 at 16:37 #265634Harchibald mark 2 without doubt. Carberry will be playing his cards late come March.
Meade compared him to Harchibald in the RP Weekender this week – the jist of it was as always they’re two different horses but Harchibald had as big an engine as the other top 2m hurdlers but was a much better hurdler, would take a length or two out of them at every hurdle. Go Native on the other hand was much better on the flat but not as good at the hurdles.
Hurricane Fly

I just think that if Timmy had stoked him up two or three strides earlier he’d have nailed Go Native.

Possibly…..Starluck is a bit of a monkey when he hits the front though in fairness. Did you see his race against Mr Thriller? Timmy held onto him until he was over the last, away he went and then he just stopped and came back to Mr Thriller.
Don’t think it was that poor a ride from Timmy but I see your point
December 26, 2009 at 17:09 #265645Perhaps now would be a good time to explain to me why my post was drivel and Binocular would have been value at 4/5 Fist?
December 26, 2009 at 17:26 #265651The ground was pretty desperate at Haydock and I think that proved to be Starluck’s undoing. He needs genuine good groud to be at his very best.
I also have concerns regarding his stamina. He travelled like the best horse in the Triumph before being beaten by the hill. He’ll do well to reach the frame come March.
Go Native nearly threw away the Supreme Novices’ after hitting the front too soon and Medermit would arguably have got to him with a bit more luck. Noel Meade didn’t think he was right when beaten by Hurricane Fly in April. Take away that effort and he’s never finished outside the first two over hurdles. Clearly a very good, improving horse.
After analysing the race again, it would appear that connections experimented with the tactics of Binocular at the business end of the race. His ability has seen him hit the front at a similar stage before, but he was hardly in control when he took it up today.
McCoy will keep hold of him a little longer at Cheltenham, but Go Native has his number and the Nicky Henderson-trained horse has it all to prove. Still maintains enough ability to reach a place.
December 26, 2009 at 17:28 #265654Zaynar’s form gets stronger and stronger, the first was Starluck obviously, all horses were gung ho at the finish and Go Native who looked like to be crusing only found enough to beat Starluck who is the same that he finds nothing off the bridle and now Binocular again shows he also finds hardly anything.
Go Native and Starluck have beaten Cape Tribulation here by 6.25l a horse who was beaten on the bridle in Zaynar who we know does find off the bridle, Zaynar has the beating of all 3 of these horses.
December 26, 2009 at 17:32 #265655Binocular’s finished as a live Champion hope isn’t he ?
