Sad news. Apparently they discovered during an operation today that the infection had spread to the pedal bone.
Condolences to Charlie Hills stable and the owners.
February 7, 2014 at 17:49 #467351Very sad news, she was a talented filly with a devastating change of gear.
Echo your sentiments, condolences to all connected.
February 8, 2014 at 10:22 #467459A real shame. Willie Carson, Charlie Hills and Richard Hughes had such enthusiasm and high hopes for her.

February 9, 2014 at 00:21 #467574Devastating news, it all seemed so routine at first but the infection took hold.
Was so looking forward to seeing her run in the Classics and had previously seen her at Newmarket sweeping up the Rowley Mile to beat Rizeena and Ihtimal in the Fillies Mile last September.
She was 28/1 that day and I didn’t back her, but I do remember her in the paddock and a jubilant Willie Carson was there to welcome her back. What she went on to achieve was amazing and who knows what she may have achieved. The sad loss of Piping Rock last year and now Chriselliam is taking it’s toll before the flat season even kicks off.
I know how much you thought of her Nathan reading your posts, as much as I thought of Dawn Approach this time last year, brimming with confidence and looking forward to her confirming your confidence in her, horses are so fragile.

RIP Chriselliam
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 9, 2014 at 01:22 #467577Totally gutted!

Yet another exceptional filly who had potential 1000 Guineas victory written all over her has been lost in the last 2 years (the other being the hugely talented Newfangled who’d have surely took the 2013 classic).
February 9, 2014 at 20:35 #467663That is sickening news for connections and fans alike. Although I didn’t fancy her for the 1000 Guineas she was one of the most interesting contenders and it’s a crying shame for her to be taken like that.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
