Agreed Vikingflagship. The way he finishes after the last fence is like watching a 28lb sledgehammer smash its target.
December 29, 2024 at 08:36 #1716918You’d love to see him do it (win 3). Could never really warm to Al Boum Photo as he basically only raced in the Gold Cup every year. GDC dances every single dance and even when hes a bit below par he’s never miles off it. Remarkable consistency at the top level.
December 31, 2024 at 15:00 #1717142Is there any news about Geri Colombe? I expected him to run a Tramore, but he is not in the finale line up.
December 31, 2024 at 18:38 #1717157Trainer wasn’t happy with him so didn’t declare him.
January 1, 2025 at 08:48 #1717224Thanks
January 1, 2025 at 14:27 #1717274There s a def red hanging over Gerri , there’s some e.w value in the GC
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 1, 2025 at 23:12 #1717325These are the possible runners for JP McManus.
Fact to File
Spillane’s Tower
Corbett’s Cross
Inothewayurthinkin
I Am Maximus
Capodanno
Iroko
They undoubtably will have multiple entries at Cheltenham and we may not find out until a few days before their intended targets. If the ground is soft or heavy I think Fact to File and Spillane’s Tower will run in the Ryanair. I think at this stage Corbett’s Cross @ 40/1 and Inothewayurthinkin @ 50/1 are by far the best each way antepost bets. They will both stay every yard and we have not seen the best of them yet.
January 1, 2025 at 23:39 #1717327I looked at that pair too Sea Pigeon. They do look value, but maybe that’s more bout their likelihood of turning up.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised (if Fact To File runs in this) to see Corbetts Cross in the Stayers Hurdle. Is quoted in the betting now for that race too and I heard one of the owner’s team AP McCoy on ITV over Christmas mention about switching him to hurdles.
Inothewayurthinkin is one of my two ante-post bets for the Grand National. On soft or heavy at Cheltenham he’ll be staying on better than many, but will he go for both the GC and GN?

Value Is EverythingJanuary 11, 2025 at 21:39 #1717921Had a go with Embassy Gardens.
Realise that Galopin looks incredibly tough to beat, but I liked that comeback from Embassy, especially the way he found more when challenged.
Banbridge was always going to be on my radar, while Corbetts Cross has been on my mind for this since last March
Minella Cocooner an interesting entry, but I still think he’ll go Bobbyjo.
Galopins to lose currently I think, but happy to have a try with Embassy
Embassy Gardens 33’s
January 14, 2025 at 16:06 #1718031If the betting is anything to go by then Corbetts Cross looks to be running in the Gold Cup. He was 40/1 a week or so ago and now down to 16/1 with many bookies.
January 25, 2025 at 15:23 #1718870Grey Dawning has suddenly gone out to 34 in blue, with nothing wanting to back it in pink.
Same for the Ryanair, nothing on the pink side.
Hope everything is ok.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 25, 2025 at 15:50 #1718879Oh dear.
Grey Dawning might miss Cheltenham all together.
Probably goes to Kelso and then Aintree.Value Is EverythingFebruary 3, 2025 at 10:33 #1719738Gerri Colombe ruled out for the season.
The more I know the less I understand.
February 3, 2025 at 10:40 #1719740I think that was the worst kept secret in racing. It was fairly clear there has been a problem with the horse.
It looks a formality for GDC but I have taken the 20/1 each way against Corbetts Cross. He won’t beat the favourite but strong stayers often run into the places in the Gold Cup.
February 3, 2025 at 15:18 #1719756Kelso are making a big thing about Grey Dawning running there so they must have had a pretty solid confirmation from the yard that he’ll be going there.
February 3, 2025 at 17:45 #1719762Will we see the real Gerri again , the race is falling apart , if you had a decent staying chaser you,d have a chance of some decent place money
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
